How does Rico do against current Wilder?

How do you think this fight would go?

 

Well vs this wilder, prime wilder sparks him

 

Wilder can't deal with that style. Even prime Wilder would struggle and would probably need to pull off a come from behind KO. Current Wilder can't pull the trigger.

 

Wilder is shot, Rico wins.

 

Rico would explode his chin.

 

I don't get this 'everyone knocks out Wilder' narrative, even now. Those who said Del would spark him were wrong and those saying Rico would are equally wrong in my opinion. Wilder has been stopped in a war with Fury and sparked by one of the heaviest, cutest punchers of all time. For me, his chin and powers of recuperation are well above average, even now. Good chance Rico's herky, jerky rushing style runs him onto a big right v Wilder; Wilder can't pull the trigger but when someone is running onto your best weapon its hard to miss.

Lets not get carried away with Rico. He lost against the worst version of a nearly 40 small heavyweight despite his huge physical advantages. I actually think Usyk was so poor that night, the Chisora and Wilder who recently fought each other would have done 'as well' as Rico v Usyk ON THAT GIVEN NIGHT.


....now, history may prove me wrong. Rico might go on a tear. But. I can't see it. All of the top guys likely stop him, some of them quickly. Guy is a lovely fella abd a breath of fresh air but lets not rewrite history

Rico negates the right hand and outboxes him. Of course, Wilder could also pull off an upset and he's tough enough to do it

 

Wilder late stoppage maybe. Wouldn't be able to blast him out early like he would in his prime but he still showed some level of power and ability against Chisora. Despite not having a notable uppercut he'd still find the shot and land it enough to take Rico out.

 

Rico would get knocked out.

People forget that except Ortiz II Wilder would have won all his KO wins on points if he'd failed to get the KO. You all want to make fun of Wilders choice of opponents is Rico actually better than Stiverne, Molina and Arreola were? Is he better than Helenius Wilder spark plugged not so long ago?

 

Deontay hasn't been the same since Fury put his ear halfway through his head years ago.

 

We've seen Rico works hard to tailor his style. Wilder's KOs have been largely against shorter, stationary opponents. I see Rico simply following the Fury playbook: Applying his superior weight to keep Wilder rocked and back on his heels. It could be a good fight, but I see a Rico win if anything approximating the Rico who fought Usyk shows up.

We all saw that the Ngannou who showed up vs. AJ was very different from the one who (ahem) beat Fury.

 

I favor Wilder, I think Rico benefited a lot from Usyk being shorter, smaller and not being much of a puncher but Usyk landed some hard counters. I think Wilder sits down on his right and nails Rico coming in especially if he is going to get low and give up his height. I don't think Rico can come in and smother Wilder all night long and I don't think he knocks Wilder out

 

Wilder went life and death with a forty something Chisora with about 15 losses and marginally above average power. Pathetic.

 

.. oh Wilder is done man. Loads of people thought he'd loose to Del. But he didn't. My point was rhat people knock Wilders chin and heart and those are two things he has in abundance. I can't see Rico knocking him out, even now, and for the reasons I gave. Thanks for taking the time to answer, have a wonderful day.
