He was not and Leonard was always faster its not even up for debate.
Duran was a master at infighting and Leonard while good at it was not on Durans level.

If we’re being fair here, Duran would probably end up quitting midway through the fight.

I’m sure you know what the definition of an ATG is.

If we’re being fare, Floyd would have impersonated Clark Griswold again, taking another vacation until it was safe to come back.

Is Canelo not an ATG? I don’t want to hear he was to young he had like 11 title fights up to that point in prime fighting years. Not sure who you think Mayweather was supposed to fight except Pac 7 years earlier.

that's why I choose Floyd. Canelo, like Duran, excels at pressure. That's his game but even he couldnt find him and in the end, looked just as helpless as everyone else. Brawlers, masters of MMA, argentines, 8 division champions, olympic gold medalists, all of them falling to Mayweather, a legend among legends, prey to powers that know no equal

Comparing Canelo with Duran is worse than comparing Mayweather with Broner

He was at least as fast in Montreal.
‘functionally’ fast, who cares if Leonard can throw a very slightly faster 4 or 5 punch shoeshine combination.
Duran was lightning fast at his best. Anyone who says different is wrong

Hey, I'm just here to educate everyone. Canelo is a world champion correct? In fact, in more than one weight class. Why then do you treat him like a club fighter?

Speaking of club fighters, did you know what Kirkland laing outboxed Duran?

That's right. he knew that the key to victory is take advantage of Duran's slow feet.

Add to the fact that Duran lacked true one punch power and had to rely on reams of accumulated punishment, evenat 135

That's why I believe Duran cannot win

    He didnt hurt Benitez

He couldnt put away Palomino or Leonard

He did do in Cuevas but Cuevas wasnt really going anywhere except down

He couldnt even put away Moore who had to endure that terrible thumb that handicapped him for the rest of the fight

It's going to take more than a carefully planted thumb to get Duran out of this mess

You know that Durans fast feet became much slower after he turned 30 or so? Like with almost anyone.
    Canelo always had slow feet.
Duran never had trouble with fast or slick boxers in his prime.
Duran has the same problem as Roy Jones where he gets judged on his past prime abilities too harshly.
He probably shouldn’t have lost to Laing but he was naturally way smaller than Laing, that’s forgotten too, and Duran had about 80 fights. It can happen.
He gave Moore the spanking of all spankings, literally beat poor Davey to a pulp.

So, a green Canelo is now comparable to a peak 135 Duran? And "masters of MMA" count for something in the discussion? Then the horse that Duran KO'd should count for something, too. And I guess Castillo doesn't fit into any of those caterogies.

You're digging your hole deeper with every comment.

you mean green as in Davey Moore?

if experience is your hangup, how about that eight division champion!

you can add him onto the list of 15 other champs beaten by Floyd
