I dont think it even is lacking in super stars. It will be when AJ, Fury, Usyk and Canelo are gone, but having 4 legitimately globally recognisable guys around at once is definitely not a lack of super stars.

If you wanna see what a lack of super stars looks like, look at the UFC in the last few years. They are doing far worse than boxing when it comes to having elite American fighters too.

This is intentional so fighters get their credibility from the brand and the brand doesn't get their credibility from the fighters.

By superstar I mean a generational talent not someone who gets attention for saying outlandish thing.

I'm British yes and for context I quite like him

If he was ever going to be a super star, the promotional bandwagon would have been on him years back
Obviously the money men in the sport don't see it

Again I quite like the guy and he is local to me but the numbers don't add up enough to have anyone make the "hard" push for him to get over with the general public

I mean a superstar is somebody everyone knows right? Not just boxing fans

If I start seeing him on mainstream talk shows and stuff like that I'd change my mind possibly but I don't see it happening

Frank Warren only backed him so far for a reason
Turki has given him the bigger push because he likes him and has money to throw around

Frank didn't and knew it was risky

Winner of Shakur v Haney, especially if its Shakur, will become a major name.

    Oh shut up you twit

I've gave a balanced reasoning as to why

Try looking at that rather than being biased for obvious reasons

This is why you have guys like Jake Paul bringing in millions....Whatever you think of him, he's an incredible self promoter.

There's just too few personalities in the Sport. People mock Eddie Hearn for example, but at least he puts himself out there and talks **** deliberately to get views. Eddie Hearn wouldn't have to talk such **** if boxers actually had a personality.

Promoter rivalries seem to gain more coverage than Fighter rivalries these days.

    ''Do you know Ryan Garcia?''

    A random British lad.

''Is he the son of Andy Garcia or did he play for Liverpool?''

''Do you know Aleksander Usyk is''?

    A random British lad.

    ''Heavyweight champ of the world''

Yet some of you think Garcia is going to be the next superstar? Because he went on the bloody Jimmy Fallon show? What is wrong with some of you..Unbelievable.

Now try that on a random 25 year old American. You’ll get the opposite response. I’m not exactly sure what you’re proving, other than that maybe Brits dont like the asshat social media shenanigans that (unfortunately) make an athlete grow their profile in the US. Then again, y’all like Fury, so maybe not.

Moses is too young and too talented to not be a potential star.

Benavidez is a candidate. If he beats Beterbiev and Bivol I think hes very close.

If Tank comes back disciplined and focused (unlikely) I think hes one or two big wins away from stardom.

Garcia probably doesn't have the talent to but just speaking on his star power, hes only a couple of big wins away from being the face of boxing himself imo.

If the guy fighting boots winds up upsetting him I think he has potential too.

When the best doesn’t fight the best, you seldom create superstars. You need fights that can draw in casual fans. Name a future fights that can draw the casual. Not a fantasy but one that is signed.

This is just my personal opinion but all those reality circus fight did more harm than help boxing. Those fights are what many casual now sees as boxing.
