David Tua would not touch … would literally not lay a glove on … prime Ali. He’d twist himself into a pretzel trying to catch him, Ali would make him look ridiculous.

 

Once you realize that all Tua brings to the table is a left hook and predictability (which is how most elite boxers, past, present and future would perceive him), then it's a matter of which of the two (Tua or the elite fighter in their prime) is likely to bag the most rounds.

On that basis, and in this case, Frazier wins a wide decision.

It is hard for me to pick who wins this fight, but like, push back on the people who say Frazier wouldn't be able to survive a slugfest with Tua. An ATG fighter, especially with the condition, speed, head movement, and heart of Frazier, should be able to survive a slugfest with Tua. For example, David Izon, who had lost to Mattrice Harris before the Tua fight and was essentially a C-level contender, stood toe-to-toe with a prime Tua for 11 rounds in a slugfest. Tua scored the knockout in the 12th, but it was a competitive fight up to that point, my scorecard being 105–104 for Tua. Another example is Maskaev, who was knocked out by McCall with an arm punch in the first round and had very few meaningful wins at that stage of his career. Even he lasted 11 rounds with a prime Tua, he was winning comfortably before getting stopped. My point is that Tua was an excellent puncher and dangerous for anyone. But, if B-level fighters and journeymen could survive deep into fights with him, I would expect an all-time great like Frazier to do the same.

By the way, Tua vs Izon is a top 5 heavyweight fight; it's a MUST WATCH FIGHT if you guys haven't seen it.

 

Galento had a hell of a left hook and floored Louis with it, Butterbean had legit KO power, Tua is more like just over this level, like Briggs and Morrison level, not of the caliber to go 15 with Frazier

 

Tua has a chance in first three rounds. A Foreman chance. If Joe makes it out of those rounds its a long, long night for Tua. Joe hits his rhythm and is all over Tua till the bell winning a clear decision. FOC Frazier was different gravy and would not be denied by an entertaining but single dimension fighter like Tua. He was like a metronomic dervish and is another level of work than Tua has ever seen.

Joe on the other hand, was bombed out in two. Other than Foreman, there were no other bombers he faced
