I think Antonio Tarver and Gennady Golovkin belong there, but not Nigel Benn.

Vernon Forrest, Steve Collins, Israel Vasquez, Omar Narvaez, Joel Casamayor or Chris John should have been voted in instead of Benn.

The criteria for admission to the IBHOF aren't as stringent as they once were. If Mancini, Gatti, Pazienza and Corrales are in, then Nigel Benn (and others) can easily be inducted, that's my opinion.

But why choose Nigel Benn over several more deserving, like Vernon Forrest and Steve Collins (who beat him twice)?

When I think of Benn, I most remember his permanently damaging McClelland with illegal rabbit punches (and the rotten referee who permitted it), in a fight he was losing.

So why choose Corrales and not Casamayor, who beat him twice? To induct a fighter into the IBHOF their entire career must be evaluated, and if Corrales is in the mix, and, starting this year, Benn, it's only fair that other fighters be inducted in the future. Some of them are among those we've mentioned.

Gatti is the only one I will defend, and he is rightfully an exception to who should be accepted in. Gatti had a one of a kind career, and any man with as many Fight of The Year honors should be added to the the IBHOF. Plus he was a several time title holder too, and clearly a world class boxer at his peak.

For me the important thing is to have clear criteria for induction and to have the same standards for all boxers. That's why I say there are several boxers who should be inducted into the IBHOF because their legacy is no less impressive than that of others who have been inducted. I hope these boxers are inducted soon.

Prime Golovkin ruled his division with an iron fist.

Gennady Golovkin for sure deserves his spot. I'm indifferent with Antonio Tarver and Nigel Benn but I have no complaints with them being inducted.

Personally I would have chosen guys like Meldrick Taylor, Israel Vazquez, Fernando Vargas, Vernon Forrest, Gilberto Roman, Santos Laciar, Miguel Lora, Leo Gamez, Wilfredo Vazquez, Sot Chitalada, Yuri Arbachakov.

Benn is deserving. He beat Malinga, McClellan & Nardiello & went to the US & defeated Barkley & DeWitt.. he also deserved the nod in the second Eubank fight. I have no problem with his induction.

Yep, might as well throw 2 exciting KO artist together in the same ceremony! There is great entertainment value in being a KO King and a Great fighter! GGG is both of those! Benn is all excitement as well. Tarver derailed the Roy Jones train and was an elite fighter, so they all belong.

Pretty much agree with you. If Benn belongs in the HOF he was not better then the other options on the ballot. Same with Vinny Paz and Gatti. Not blatantly unqualified just nowhere near as good as other's on the ballot.

Playing devils advocate if you treat tweeners as equal divisions Benns got to pretty high up there in the 168 rankings? Abraham's got 9 non WBO defenses. Do a lot of people have that many?

I guess the order guys get inducted doesn't really matter in the end. At least these borderline guys getting in will set some realistic standards for the HOF because some fans think it's for fighters of the decade only.

Tarver and Benn has the best wins. GGG looked more dominant but never had a signature victory against a great opponent. Crawford, a fighter who began his career at lightweight looked far better against Canelo than GGG and GGG had 3 shots at him.

Tarver absolutely obliterated Roy Jones Glass Jaw. For that I will always be a fan. Well done Magic Man.

GGG at worst was 2-1 vs Canelo. Every single person that can score a fight knows that.
