It's been nearly a month since Usyk last fought. He was ordered by the WBC to fight Kabayel next.

What do you think he will do: vacate the WBC belt, or fight Kabayel?

Hopefully he decides soon, because otherwise it's not fair to Kabayel to be kept waiting any longer.

Usyk has the entire month of June (30 days since the WBC mandated him to face Kabayel, the interim WBC champion). I honestly don't know what he'll do, he's probably evaluating his options these days. The most likely scenarios are a fight with Kabayel or a rematch with Verhoeven (in which case Kabayel would be elevated to WBC world champion). Only Usyk knows the final decision, we can only wait. We'll know what happens to the WBC world title in two weeks at the latest.

None of the heavyweight contenders (except Joshua and Gassiev) have a scheduled fight.

There are rumors about possible future matchups, such as Dubois-Wardley II and Hrgovic-Itauma but nothing scheduled.

Joshua Edwards, who may be the best American heavyweight, is scheduled for Saturday to fight an old journeyman. It would be better if up-and-comers like Edwards, Dronov and Teremoana would fight live opponents instead of old men who come to lose.

If Turki wants to put the money up for it then the fight will happen. If Turki wants to screw around with getting Fury on the Zuffa payroll and kills the AJ fight so they can get Fury a belt by having him fight Kabayel, then Usyk won't be fighting him. Simple as that.

All politics and money at the end of the day. Boxing never changes.

I've been saying it for years I will be mildly shocked if Usyk fights him.

I figure Usyk will go for whatever offers the most money and he will have many offers. My best guess is the title gets vacated. He certainly hasn't had a problem dumping belts.

I wanted the Rico fight to backfire on him and it so nearly did. Does he have the confidence to face Kabayel now, I doubt it. Kabayel stops him.

Hopefully Usyk does fight Kabayel, after all he agreed to fight Kabayel next as part of the deal to allow him to fight Rico, surely Usyk will not vacate another belt avoiding the best mandatory available .

I think he should rematch Rico. Kabayel deserves a shot at the belt, so Usyk gets stripped.

He'll fight Kebabyal and win easily.
Well, a few years back, anyway. Not sure now. Every new fight is a dice roll.
Everyone is blaming Usyk but the real villain is Parker. He lost and got busted for cocaine. Only he and Wilder had any champion status left to fight so Usyk's disinterest is understandable.
Holding up the division is funny though because it just exposes how none of these 'top' warriors want to fight each other in case they lose and are all hanging around for the title shot.

That's wild blaming Parker bro. Usyk dropped the WBO belt and wasn't going to fight him anyway

Yeah it's nonsense. Usyk clearly didn't have any interest in fighting parker, asking for anyone else.

Parker is to blame for other things. His recent positive test for instance. But not for giving us an actual good matchup, which others so rarely do in his position, and not for anything usyk messed up. Not for usyk fighting a kickboxer. Not for usyk dropping about half the rounds to a kickboxer.

I'm afraid he will drop the belt, officially earning himself a nickname Ducksyk.
