You're right, Ike, my bad. I don't know where I heard that version of the story, but that's how I thought it went down. I've just done more research and can see you are correct that it's 2005, not 1999. I do think Wright is overrated by some and De La Hoya is underrated, and I would pick De La Hoya to beat him if they fought, it's a real shame they never did.

No problem, the important thing is to be able to understand each other, goodnight.

Wright turned the Oskee fight down in the early 2000s. Dumb move because it was a very winnable fight for him. He was dangerous against everyone at that weight Imo, the Vargas fight was a war

I really believe wright is the guy that can go 4-0 against Canelo, Oscar, Floyd, and Crawford

Wright UD. Too big, too sturdy, too consistent, too much pressure, too good of a jab, too defensively sound.

Funny a youtube video popped up yesterday on Tim tszyu. When asked about the best jab he's seen he said Winky.

I also wonder if prime Winkys workrate is being underestimated by people picking Oscar. I could be wrong but I think Winky threw more against Shane (probably due to jabs but still) then Oscar did at 154. I also think he might have thrown more against Tito then Oscar has in many of his big fights.

When Winky is the larger guy in there and doesn't have to respect someone's power or physicality, he can definitely turn on the activity and pressure.

I am not at all sold on the notion that Oscar outworks Winky effectively as hes getting walked down and slammed with a constant jab.

I agree. Winky is one of the most underrated fighters of all time.
