Dave Allen says a “big 50/50 fight” has been agreed if he wins his next bout on July 25

Who do you guys think Eddie has lined up as Dave’s big “50/50” opponent if he gets the win on July 25?

I met Thomas Carty at the Johnny Fisher vs Alen Babić event in London. Really nice guy.
This does feel like a genuine 50/50 fight, but I think Dave Allen should take it.

    If he's fighting Zhang, that ain't a 50/50 fight

    Bosh trilogy

Only way Eddie can generate the money to keep him

    War Allen

Zhang is older and on a long ass layoff, if Allen can get him to round 4-5, could take it through attrition

Yeah that was kinda what I was referring to
Eddie would only need to match the money or get close to it once as the Zuffa deal is a 1 fight deal

    Allen Trilogy might generate interest

Zuffa will pay him well but probably set him up to fail that one fight

Allen should fight Whyte, that would be a great fight...

Any opponent that's ranked and of note isn't 50/50 for Allen.

Might be the highest regarded opponent that he actually has a chance against. That said I still lean heavily towards Whyte. Unlikely that Allen would bomb him out early like Itauma did and that's his best shot.

Why "heavily towards" Whyte? He took 7 rounds to corner stop that ancient African low level journeyman, and that was in 2024. Itauma blew him out inside 2 minutes a year ago. He's 38, inactive, unmotivated. He got banjoed by a twice dropped Povetkin who was on the cusp of 41 at the time, back in 2020. Allen recently gave Makhmudov a good fight. In fact, he gave prime Whyte half a fight back in the day.

Hilarious. Zhang knocks him out in a few rounds.

Yeah... and that's probably exactly how the fight would look. Either that or Whyte outboxes and batters him into submission like Price did at a similar stage of his career.
