Surely not because you think he would currently be better than hrgovic - so you mean because it would be a step back? Probably. But it might well be that Itauma doesn't get a better fight instantly after hrgovic (there is only kabayel, dubois, usyk and maaaaybe if you like parker left above). Then Zhang would be perfect. Marketing would be easy, zhang would look good on the record and if he passed hrgovic, ancient zhang shouldn't be more of a problem. (And if it isn't itauma that gets the zhang fight, it's someone else they want to promote). To me it just seems to be the gameplan herr
He'll be going in to a world title fight of sorts Warren and even Itauma have mentioned it Zhang is gonna need a monster offer to come of out semi retirement by all accounts and I don't think Queensbury will see the value in it
I would prefer that scenario. Zhang is old now and has earned his peace. He really gave us a lot and hopefully earned enough. Itauma in a proper world title fight would be amazing. Hope they don't get someone stripped to have an easy fight for the title
I agree. Whether or not they're the oldest, they're the two oldest-looking active heavyweights I've seen at least. Still scary-looking guys though all the same. Although I can see it being a brutal KO by Zhang. Ortiz goes down nowadays if someone blows on him. I think Wilder completely destroyed his chin second time round. So with the ridiculous power of Zhang, I think he gets him out of there pretty early. If Ortiz somehow manages to avoid that power (extremely doubtful), then he will probably outbox Zhang, Zhang will gas out and Ortiz will win on points. Zhang has a great chin so can't see a scenario where Ortiz knocks him out.
