Moses Itauma vs Filip Hrgovic - 29 Aug

I'll root for Hrgovic but Itauma has a lot of momentum behind him. Guys like that are a difficult night for anybody.

 

You really can't though, is the point. You can make educated speculation, but you can't visualize.

 

This is pretty much my stance as well. I said I'd give Itauma credit if he actually faced Hrgovic, now lets see how a motivated Hrgovic does for a change.

No damn way. If any other country had dubious officiating like the Brits they would get torn apart.

Even Germany isn’t half as bad (they are bad lol)

 

As an away fighter in any country you know you start a round or 2 down.

I’m going to laugh if Hrgovic pulls off a career best performance and totally derails the hype train. I doubt it’ll happen, but it’s boxing, **** happens.

 

you also can’t get hit more than a few times in a row against a UK fighter or the ref will stop it.

I seriously hate UK refs. They ruin fights. Brits, please, bring over US refs for your big fights.

This a great match up .. what boxing needs .. We will find out alot about Moses in this fight, lots of questions will be answered ..

Itauma seems hurt/upset that Hrgovic isn't giving him huge credit, even though he has never beaten anyone better than journeyman Franklin and has never been tested in a pro ring.

It doesn't suggest the strongest mentality. Hrgovic isn't there to bl*w Itauma off like a UK boxing journalist, or treat him like the uncrowned king; he is there to beat him up and derail the hypetrain. Hrgovic has to try to demoralise or destabilise Itauma if he can, and has to build up his confidence in his own mind. I don't think he will find Itauma's reaction of "It's not fair he is criticising me, it's been really tough for me too" schtick worthy of much respect.

 

Unknown quantity Zhang would have splattered Pulev, Dubois probably too. Pulev has only done more because he is 45 not 34 and was less avoided.

 

And who did Hrgovic beat when he was Itauma's age?

 

Yoka, Nistor, Kuzmin, Larduet.

But this isn't relevant. Hrgovic is 34, not 21, and one of his arguments is he has far more experience than Itauma, which gives him an advantage.
