I've mentioned this many, many times before, yes in some areas and others not...

as to Boxing and Combat Sports, it'll never get any better as was it's transition from less primitive brawling pre either side of the 1930s and peaked at that time onward and for decades to the Skilled Stylish Athletic sport that we know it to be...

it can't ever really evolve any more than what it became & is... sure a SRR and a Mike Tyson can & will come along, but the evolution will never change from this.

Man has his physical limits beyond what peds, drugs, science and hype may want you to believe and in fact Boxing has recorded a few down turns in Boxing beginning in the late 50s and again from about the 90/2000s timeline.

also, a Golfer, for example, Drives a golf ball nearly 350 - 400 yards, that IS Equipment not physicality or technique, which in golf was long past developed... Give the same Golfers Wooden Clubs or even pre 1980's Clubs and see how far they are hitting these Old Clubs and the old golf balls too.

'IF' Golfers are hitting further with Tech Clubs, make the length of the Holes longer by percentage proportions, see then what their final scores would be.

Bigger, Faster, Stronger does not always equate to better, especially in Sport that is Advanced Tech Equipment Driven...

as to Boxing & Fighting, REDUCE the Weight Divisions, Multiply the Fight Numbers, Reduce the Belts to ONE, and FORCE Champions & Contenders to Fight One Another, then see the outcomes and 'falling' away or 'never' materialising of supposed greats.

NO More Hype flashing lights and PPV media B.S.

From my own view boxing as a sport has diminished a little each decade I've been a fan. Whatever the reasons boxers don't have to test themselves anywhere near the fighters that preceded them.

The NBA might be in worse shape than boxing though.. the game of basketball no longer exists on the professional level in the US. Totally watered down virtually unwatchable.
