At the end of the day.... Ennis has done nothing more than beat up on smaller opponents. Individuals he knew going into the negotiations that he physically was the more superior competitor. None of the little guys he's faced proves that he will dominate opponents closer to his natural size. The performances he's had vs Karen showcase he is far from a finished product. And Karen is a C level opponent. Stanionis was a good win, but again, much smaller so it doesn't tell us how good Ennis is or isn't. He did what he was supposed to do. It does show us that Ennis's defensive isn't elite with the amount of times he got tagged by Stanionis. The fact he was able to land at such a high percentage let's us know that Ennis needs to work on a few things before stepping up in weight. We'll see what happens moving forward.

Jaron does a lot of rubbernecking/rolling with punches

 

In Crown, Samory I states that Haile Selassie "a nuh side kick," and that "Empress Menen a nuh no side chick." We must make the same concession about Boots. Boots speaks his mind; he fears no evil. He takes his time. He helps his people.

 

He does get hit too much for my liking. He was clearly hurt and lost his form against Zayas in that 3rd round. But I give him credit he dug deep and was putting it on Zayas again at the end of the round.

I know his fans will say he's choosing to get hit to land his own, kind of like when Crawford would get hit early in fights as he was gauging timing and distance to land his intercepting counters. But I don't recall Bud ever getting buzzed that badly that he lost his form and composure. I think it's less he chooses to get hit than a flaw in his style. His defence seems to be more offence.
