Aaron Pryor vs Julio Cesar Chavez at 140

Pryor starts like usual. Windmill or whatever you want to call it. Every second, minute, round by round he gets absolutely taken apart. Maybe ever so slowly. But in the end every punch Chavez lands, and he will land plenty, breaks Pryor apart. As for Chavez’s chin. Soon enough Pryor realises even when he lands one of his biggest shots, even if he lands several, Chavez keeps coming. Different leagues.

 

Different leagues my arse. Was Frank Randall classified the same way? He gave Chavez so much grief, he couldnt handle it and gladly accepted a technical win. Lucky he got cut and got ANOTHER gift decision. Pryor would drive him crazy

 

Randall boxed. Used footwork. Mostly straight punches. Style difference.

 

Randall suffocated him with pressure in the second fight, fighting in close, gave him more than he could stand until the ref and judges saved him with a technical win. until then, Chavez could barely keep up with him yet, was ahead on the judges cards?

 

Absolutely. I exept some to say that Pryor’s going to do the same thing. No way. Randall much more technical than Pryor.

Pretty much my own opinion. Pryor can punish JCC all he wants, but is not stopping him.

 

Chavez stops him late

 

Pryor could box when he wanted to and he would throw punches from the most insane angles.
He also could punch pretty good and had the faster hands then Chavez.
Lets not pretend that Taylor did not dominate Chavez and easily land on Chavez and Taylor while faster then Pryor hit nowhere as hard as a Pryor.

 

Pryor was highly overrated. A prime JCC breaks him down and stops him in the late rounds. With or without Pryor's special water bottle.

 

The second flight was flat our robbery .. hey stole that from Frankie and no one was happier the fight was stopped than Chavez .. by that time Chavez was on the dark side of is career ..

Frankie was giving Chavez more than he could stand and rightfully, he was ahead

Had the fight been allowed to continue without the cut to rescue him, Randal would most likely won another decision

as for Pryor, he'd beat the hell out of Chavez
