By all standard measures pretty bad stoppage but Rivera really did not seem like he wanted to be there all that much. Granted that also felt like the case during the Diamantes fighters announcement before it even started too.

 

Would have it been a Whittaker stoppage later on , more than likely but at least let the boxers decide it. Who knows maybe Rivera lands a lucky punch as Whittaker swarms him.

As for stoppage, Rivera got right up. Obeying instruction and ref waves it.

 

Not interested in Whittaker vs Wallace, I'd like to see him against Khataev. That's a proper fight and a proper blend of styles.
