Fun fight much respect to both these warriors. I might not rate him as highly as most do but regardless, I really enjoy Boots aggression and grit. He went straight at the big young man and kept pressing even after being hurt. Hard to rate this win properly until we know more about Xander (I dont rate him very highly personally but time will tell) but all that aside Boots put on an entertaining show against a good big young fighter. And Xander showed amazing toughness and will.

I still believe Boots has to tighten his defense up to eventually win the elite fights. Had Xander been just slightly sharper, faster and more dynamic of a fighter he could have quite possibly stopped Boots there.
I think its unlikely Boots beats elites with his current defense. But maybe he will prove me wrong.

Anyways, props to both guys for making this fight happen and delivering the goods in the ring. So many of boxings big fights wind up duds its refreshing these guys produced this gem.

I think Boots has bad defense, not a bad chin; he got hit with some bombs there by a guy who looked about 2 stone heavier than him and recovered quickly. If his chin wasn't decent, he'd have lost that one.

Xander's stock went up after this fight anyway. He took his shot and almost got Boots out of there. Needs to work on his head movement though.

Boots dropped Xander 3 times and Xander has never been dropped and he's bigger, Ortiz was in more trouble against Bohachuk and Kavaliauskas. Boots would dismantle those guys.

People are making too much of a big deal of being stunned.

"Plays with his food" way too much. That was a 3-5 round fight after the knockdown. A true elite fighter would have ended it in 3-5.
If he stuck to boxing without the bull****, he could have got Xayas out of there cleanly, not after Xayas took a knee/his corner threw the towel.

Fundora and Ortiz are completely different options for Ennis. Unlike Xayas, they can punch as hard or harder than him. So that bull**** isn't going to work. He'll get clipped and he'll get clipped hard. That's when we'll see how good he is.

great fight. congrats to boots, looked about as good as i expected. i still dont think hes operating at the highest levels, but this fight gets him closer. i overestimated zayas a bit, but on a different night he may have pulled it off. hes right there with boots, just hasnt learned how to put it all together. both still have vulnerable moments in their flow.

Shoutout Xander by the way, in a sport where people protect their 0 especially at his age… respect.

yes basic, but Vergil has speed and power same as boots. Also high work rate and a decent chin. He can easily land on boots

Very impressive by Super Boots. Zayas very brave and tough but Super Boots was too fast, accurate and powerful. The ref would've stopped that earlier if that was a foreigner though

As talented as Super Boots undoubtedly is, one has to question how his chin is going to hold up at this weight vs genuine punchers given how much he gets hit and how Zayas who is not a puncher hurt him. He looked wobbly to me and like he was pretty badly hurt but I'll have to watch it again to see if he was as hurt as he appeared to be. That being said, I think Zayas hits harder than his record suggests but he's definitely not a legit banger.

Super Boots is such a formidable offensive force he can beat anyone at the weight but he's also going to be more vulnerable at this weight vs the biggest punchers

That's an interesting fight, I hope it happens (although I'd sooner see Ennis-Ortiz next).
