Some great fights at 154 though, Madrimov and Bakhram would be excellent live opponents for Boots. I wouldn't confidently pick Boots to beat either of them, especially Madrimov, and I think he loses to Fundora. I actually think he beats Ortiz the easiest out of the top names at 154. Some excellent fights in there, but Boots is not a level above any of them.

Don't let Fast Eddie tell you he's the next Sugar Ray Leonard; he's not, but he's an A-grade name who is fantastic for the sport, so entertaining to watch, and with that style he's got the potential to be in many FOTY candidates. Boxing at its best really, that 3rd round was edge of the seat stuff.

If that was Ortiz in there swaying back and forth like a palm tree in a hurricane, you'd be all over him right now.

Turned out to be a great fight even though I had a feeling that it was gonna go Boots way. But give props to Zayas for trying. Even though he was outgunned he showed a lot of heart and even managed to hurt Boots momentarily. He’ll be back soon.

As for Boots the guy is a killer in the ring. Yeah he still has some defensive flaws at times but he’s an offensive machine. Now is a great time to start putting him in against Ortiz or Fundora. Those are the guys who can truly test him and perhaps push him to his limits. Make it happen.

Xander is a great kid. The part in the post fight speech where he got asked if he was moving up to 160 and he immediately shut down the question in regards to weight having anything to do with his performance. That got me. He gave all credit to Ennis and didn't want a question like that to be a set up for an excuse for the loss. What a gentleman and scholar.

That certainly could happen and I will be rooting for Vergil but the two knockdowns Ortiz suffered abgaint Bohachuk do worry me.

Xander is world class he will move up to 160 and stag a belt immediately, that weight class isn't strong

Ennis doesn't have the chin. Better comp stops him.

We’ll see, I think Vergil would try to dictate terms on Boots and Thats not going to happen. Fundora will fight Boots no problem, and that fight is probably going to happen before Ortiz. Boots is just going to keep getting better.

Ennis was hardly hit and he still looked hurt at times. Zayas was hit 4 to 1, with harder punches. Ennis doesn't hold up against a good puncher with a better chin.

Of course I have. He's the typical strong, high output guy that beats a lot of guys but almost always loses to the top dynamic, fast fighter. Jaron Ennis in this case. He does the same thing every round and barely beat Bohachuk and Madrimov.

Ennis could move to 160 easily and wreck the current middleweights. The problem at the moment is that there is no money at 160.

He didn't even get dropped and he has good survival skills if it came down to it. People are overreacting about his chin, his chin is decent enough
