I am glad Usyk has vacated his titles. I think Usyk's legacy as the #1 guy in his era is clearly secure.

That being said, Usyk was not going to fight Parker. Remember when Parker got in the ring with Usyk after Dubois 2? Usyk mentioned rematching Fury and Joshua for a third time and Derek Chisora before mentioning Parker.

If Usyk was serious about Parker, Parker would be the first name coming out of his mouth.

Even if Parker had beaten Wardley, i will bet you my yearly salary that Usyk would have picked another fight.

Was Usyk scared of Parker? No. But he clearly does not seem to believe that some guys have earned their shots through hard work and consistency. The fact he was more interested in a third fight vs Joshua or Fury than fighting Parker shows he simply does not care about meritocracy in sport.

There's always another one to fight.
He already fought the best ones at HW and now people are making kebabyal into something he isn't.
Dubious has better wins and Usyk fought him twice.
The only reason kebabyal's team are crying is that they finally positioned their fighter into a fight with a small and old opponent, when Usyk looks worse than ever, after carefully dodging everyone for a decade. And now Usyk pulled the plug.
    That's hilarious.
The 'German hero' story from Bild was also laughable. The majority of German men would support Usyk in that fight and rightly so. It's a fantasy of the media and the manage/promoter that the Germans consider Kebabyal their boxing hero. Just lol, clown-show Europe.

Perfect resume crafted, but terribly afraid to lose his 0. Be a man and fight kabayel. We no longer have a greedy belly in division, we have a greedy gaptooth as well ;).

This is just resentment that Usyk hasn't lost like your favourite boxer/boxers. No one was good enough to beat him at least prior to 39 despite fighting everyone at the top, usually with the deck stacked against him.

The notion that Oleksandr Usyk is ducking Agit Kabayel makes for good barroom chatter but poor analysis. Prizefighting has always been about the green, not the glory, and if the numbers were right you would see Usyk in the opposite corner without hesitation. The truth is simpler and less romantic. The money is not there or at least the risk v reward doesn't equate.

This is a man nudging forty who has already swept the table. He gave the division’s best two bites at the apple and they came up empty both times. At some point the champion stops chasing approval and starts counting what the game owes him. Fans always want one more name, one more test, one more night under the lights.

Do not be surprised if he joins the doofus circus and takes the easier road to a very large payday, perhaps a faded name for a tidy fortune, ( my money is on a Wilder fight ) and then tips his hat and exits. Good for him if he does. Legacy is already in the bank, and legacy, last I checked, does not pay the bills.

Ducking is ducking, no matter the results of the past. There are a lot of things up for debate, but some things are just that and nothing more. The guy got saved against a kick boxer and Dubois, so im not even gonna argue that the deck was stacked.

First time I strongly disagree with you about something @Rumsfeld . It's very reasonable to say Bowe ducked Lewis. The offer you refer to was a 90-10 split, which is so bad it's hard to see as a serious offer.

Even then Lewis accepted it eventually, but got turned down by the Bowe camp, because 'another deal was imminent'.

If that's not how you'd act if you really didn't want to accept a challenge, what is?

You're a funny guy. Usyk hurt that guy multiple times, was never hurt himself, cruised through the entire fight, and then slumped him through the ropes when he wanted. The ref should have waved it off right then and there because Rico wasn't responding to commands and thus didn't beat the count. Gave him half a minute to recover with the mouthpiece shenanigans and then Usyk went right back to beating his ass.

Of course, to even further prove you're not a serious person you brought up Dubois. Show some respect for yourself.

Nobody cares about Kabayel. He's a bang average HW who hasn't proven himself whatsoever. He's spent most of his career knocking over journeymen in Germany and even those guys have had him in serious trouble. If Turki had put up the money then Usyk would have gone and smashed that plodder and then the goalposts would have moved to Bu-bu-bu he hasn't fought Itauma! If he doesn't fight Itauma he's ducking!

Usyk is damn near 40 and he wants to get paid just like every boxer in the history of the game. He made almost nothing through his career up until the AJ rematch when he was already 35 years old. He didn't start making what he was truly worth until the Fury rematch. So of course he's looking for the biggest paydays right at the end of his career. That's only logical. It ain't his fault Kabayel never did a thing to raise his profile and convince the paymasters that a fight with him would actually draw some eyeballs.

Usyk is 39.5 y/o not 29-35 or even 36-38 and he has cleaned out the top guys in 2 divisions in their backyards and on the road whilst routinely being at or putting himself a great disadvantages and doing it the hard and noble way conducting himself in and out of the ring in a borderline saintly manner and barely facing any soft touches along the way

He's racked up so many good grace points throughout his career doing things religiously that so many others, including his fellow greats, refused to do once or would never do near as much as he did, and going about it the way he did, he can do whatever the hell he wants to do now he's vacated the belts

And because of the approach he took and his impeccable track record up until recently only when old and long past his prime and after achieving everything there is to achieve in boxing 2 x over he gets a free pass at this stage of his career and at his age that others who did not do it the way he did it and take the risks he did weren't or won't be afforded and he categorically deserves it too

J-Park and Fabio wouldn't even beat the way past prime badly diminished version of Usyk who beat Rico, let alone a prime version or a 35-38 y/o version

And even the Usyk of a few years ago is on a completely different level to Kabayel. There isn't an alternate reality or dimension where Kabayel could ever beat a prime Usyk or a closer to prime version Usyk would be way too fast, sharp, elusive and skilful.

People think Usyk is going to stand still in front of him like immobile man mountain statues Big Bang and Mak or that Sanchez is remotely close to Usyk's level?

J-Park has already lost to AJ, Big Joe Joyce, should be 1-1 vs Chisora all of whom Usyk victims albeit with Big Joe obviously losing to Usyk in the WSB and J-Park also has losses to Whyte, Fabio and could easily have lost numerous other fights and none of the guys he lost to or arguably lost to could ever beat Usyk or are near his level

Fabio just got knocked senseless by 2 x Usyk victim Dubois and was lucky to get past Huni and J-Park and could very easily be 1-1 vs Clarke.

Look at how many fans have subsequently tried to diminish Usyk's wins over the top dogs at HW, fighters who beat or knocked out J-Park and Fabio, so what the hell would happen after he whooped them had those fights materialized when it would be way easier to discredit those wins?

And Kabayel who already holds huge advantages over Usyk in terms of size and youth and has never fought any of his opponents in their backyards sans a couple of scrubs very early in his career should've been like ''I'll fight you anywhere you want the fight, Mr Usyk,'' not put yourself at great disadvantage yet again and fight me in Germany at nigh on 40 y/o when way past your prime.

It's just expected for Usyk to keep putting himself at these great disadvantages, many disadvantages simultaneously not just individual ones, even at almost 40 y/o after a career of doing so routinely but his peers and so many of his fellow greats weren't/aren't expected to do this even in their primes, let alone routinely do so

And imagine if Kabayel gets beat by Belly, AJ or Dubois in his next few fights the current perception of him will change drastically overnight

Usyk is ducking retirement along with Fury for basically glorified exhibition matches with one another.

The amount of times I've heard people, including so called experts, fighters and trainers, say Usyk is still in his prime or hasn't lost a step is comical. He's, as I have been saying for years, declined and slowed down a lot and it's glaring and you only have to watch the now and then footage to see it and it's been happening a lot longer than the last 2 years.

Disagree with quite a bit of this but he makes some good points

I don't blame him for it since he's 40, but yeah it's clearly a duck

I'm pissing against a stiff wind of opinion here, but I think Usyk is monetising his remaining talent and why shouldn't he? I think the Usyk that beat Dubois beats Kabayel and comprehensively. I think Kaba is somewhat overrated on this forum and elsewhere. But. It is a competitve fight against a dangerous challenger. Usyk will make far more fighting Wilder, or Fury, or Jake ****in' Paul. And so he should. He's a prizefighter.
