The truth is, he's been avoided by many - he's been considered high risk, low reward. But maybe if he's the full WBA champion, some contenders will be willing to face him.

By the way, he deserved to win in the Wallin fight. All Wallin did was run, people shouldn't win rounds by fighting scared.

 

I wouldn't say avoided. Prior to Usyk dropping the belts everyone else was either putting themselves up to fight him (with the WBA being last in line) or fighting better opponents.

And I don't care if Wallin ran all fight. A good boxer should know how to cut off the ring. Beating an ancient pulev isn't anything special imo

 

Itauma is fighting better opponents than Gassiev. Gassiev lost to Wallin and beat a 44 yo Pulev. Hardly the stuff of legends bro

 

I don't agree with the rule, but I don't see Gassiev being worse than the winner of Bermane Stiverne Vs. Chris Arreola (WBC belt).
These rules are not good, but neither were the previous rules.

 

WBA still didn't update their rankings and Usyk is still listed as the super champion, lol.

 

rest assured, they’re working on a way to screw Gassiev and somehow make Hrgovic-Ituama for the WBA Super.

If he couldn't find anyone more deserving than Yoka he should have waited until a better opponent emerged

There are easily 20 plus guys better than poor Yoka

 

The guy needs to keep earning

And for the money involved you'll see alot of fighters ignore the offer

Gassiev hits too hard. Potential banana peel to anybody. Look what happened with Pulev, who was winning every round until he was knocked cold with a single punch.
