Let's get it out there--by their own rules, Gassiev is the WBA world champion

Neither does Usyk now. Who's the better fighter?

Why fight for a meaningless belt when you can actually fight worthwhile opponents? Gassievs belt is worth less than the email it came to him in.

@catchwtboxing your relentless efforts to fight Gassiev's corner is respectable and weird at the same time.

But this doesn't mean much, other that making Murad the worst HW titlist since Charles Martin regardless of what he achieved at cruiser. It does nothing for Usyk's resume either, not that It's needed.

its just a strange attempt to make Usyk's heavyweight resume greater than it actually is. Lol. Gassiev has accomplished 0 at heavyweight. He is a worse "champion" than John Ruiz.

He was a great win and a great performance at cruiser. But he has nothing to do with Usyk's HW resume.

WBA is just a title. To be the world champion you need more than only 1 belt.

"The" champion, yes/maybe. "A" champion, no.

Whilst Gassiev is fortunate to be able to call himself a HW world champion based off the back of beating old man Pulev, who to be fair has only ever been stopped by massive punchers, he's had to endure way more than his fair share of rotten luck with injuries and inactivity over the last 8 years and he's one of the nicest, most respectful and classy fighters in the game and he's been a shell of his former self since the injuries derailed his career so it's nice to see him be on the receiving end of some good luck for a change

And truth be told even that 44 y/o version of Pulev would be one of The Dosser's best wins and Gassiev has a KO 100% at HW despite being shot to bits (albeit it's mostly come against scrubs) and he was getting schooled by Pulev prior to that come from behind HL reel KO of the year contender savage one punch finish and back in his prime it's hardly a secret he knocked out or stopped numerous highly ranked good HWs in the gym

As I've mentioned on here many times before Ben Davison is on record saying that lots of HWs have personally told him that Gassiev is the hardest puncher they shared a ring with and Sam Jones is also on record saying that Gassiev is the hardest puncher he's ever seen based of watching him spar in person up in Big Bear and video footage of him knocking out good quality HWs in the gym so it's a shame we never got to see a prime healthy Gassiev at HW

Lol. He's only getting started, and its looking like he's going to get a least a bit of an opponent upgrade to Joe Joyce.

Because these belts are only as meaningful as the champ makes them, and Ituama could have had one.

So by your own admission the WBA is worthless then given that Gassiev didn't win it in the ring, and has the weakest resume of any recent HW champ since Charles Martin

The belt is what you make of it, but they are the ticket. Itauma turned a shot down. Didn't answer the phone.

As you either keep avoiding or falling to understand the multiple times I've asked you a direct question: why are you criticizing Itauma for taking on more proven opponents compared to chasing a trinket belt that is, by your own admission, worthless?

Because the trinket is the ticket they are fighting for. The winner of Itauam-Hrgovic is going to go on to fight for a trinket. If Gassiev was so easy, then they would have answered that call.
