Toney seemed to be the popular pick for the next challenger, so I ultimately went with him.

Some other reasons I picked Toney over Burley and Walker are that I was worried about Burley only having one film hurting his chances and Walker being seen as too small. I also briefly considered Fred Apostoli but thought with how the Hopkins vs Steele poll went he probably wouldn't stand much of a chance because Steele is the guy from that era with a lot more modern supporters so if he couldn't do it, poor Fred would probably get steam rolled in the voting.

Clinical high tech matchup. I've always favored James here as i believe he had better technical skills and would have pulled out a close decision win.

For those not keeping up with Hopkins ongoing title reign it is as follows:

Won the title against Dick Tiger
    Won against Mike McCallum
    Won against Freddie Steele
Retained via draw against Michael Nunn
    Won Against Lloyd Marshall
    Won against GGG.

Hopkins versatility and livelier footwork wins the night by decision.

I mean to be fair your profile picture is also a past prime heavyweight legend losing. It's basically the same thing.

Holmes and Tyson are my 2 favorite heavyweights, hence the pic of them equally in action. So I disagree. Now if I had Holmes sprawled out on the canvas I'd agree with you

Hopkins woulda had his ish pushed in by Golovkin.

That said, assuming he somehow managed to borrow Canelo's judges for that one, and made it this far, I think he'd squeak by Toney on points. Hops has the consistency and the track record and while I think Toney would certainly have his brilliant little moments, Hopkins will probably outwork him steadily for a narrow win on the cards. I say probably because let's be honest, Toney might take it too if it comes together for him.

How did I know you'd say that :beer-toast1:

Tiny backstory: I picked RJJ and Hopkins as the 2 guys to knock Toney off the 160 throne in the early 90's. Then what was it, 2002 when they came thisclose to fighting at a catchweight? I picked Toney then. One of the many battles we never caught. Shame.

My vote has now been changed...

We're seeing real diplomacy being done here by team Hopkins.
