In one of the latest interviews I saw with Byrd it appeared like he suffered frim CTE too. Which is sad, because he was usually quite quick-witted.

damn...hate that. Byrd was very talented. hate to see boxers return to the ring after father time has had his way.
I'd much rather see these old warhorses fight each other in a Boxing Seniors League than taking beatings from young people like this. Such fights would at least be potentially competitive, if perhaps rather SLOW.
I think his wife divorced him and took most his money years ago. I always thought Byrd would make a good commentator.
