Pulev must be kicking himself for losing that fight(it was actually pretty competitive prior to the KO) and the fact that Usyk didn't vacate sooner. He was 6-7 months away from becoming "World Champion" at 45 years young.

At the time is was only the regular belt, which has zero value. Not sure why that is so difficult for you to understand. And as usual you completely side step the main point, which is that Itauma is fighting BETTER OPPONENTS.

Gassiev is a crap heavyweight, got his so called title via email and can't even find a half decent opponent to fight. Maybe Itauma will take pity and take it off him after he's dealt with Hrgovic and Sanchez.

We've been over this before. Everyone knew Usyk was at the end, and as a matter of fact, Turkyi publically asked Frank Warren to get Itauma a shot at Pulev for the belt and Warren considered a lawsuit whne they went with Gassiev instead. You know all this, because we have alreayd been through it. Itauma wanted the belt whne it was Pulev.

Sure, and you can lament those oppoentns. But it is pretty off the rails to think that this is going to be cancelled entirely.

I'm saying it would better off being canceled due to how disgraceful the main event would be if one of the two opponents I have issue with were selected.

Right, and I think that is completely fanciful. They are still going to want to hold the other fights, and Gassiev is still going to want to hav ea run-out. A lot of people are still going to watch, including myself, and boxing will march on.

It doesn't matter what Gassiev wants. If he's not holding a belt he can fight whomever he wants. If he's holding a major belt he's obligated to fight better opposition and will be subject to more scrutiny for his choice in opponent. Not very hard to comprehend.

No they didn't. Usyk himself alluded that he was going to keep fighting until very recently.

I respect Itauma for taking on better opponents. You can enjoy this utterly meaningless title defense from a guy who fought nobody to receive his belt via email.

Yes, he's holding a belt, he has trained to defend it, is opponent got injured, he intends to defend it still, his promotors are going to find him a new opponent, and a lot of people are going to watch.

It DOES matter what he wants. Respectfully, it doesn't matter that YOU don't like it.

What's denial is you trying to talk up Gassiev in any way shape or form when his best win is a 44 year old Pulev.

As you don't seem to recall, let me remind you that after Dubios 2 Usyk famously states "38 is still young. This only beginning".

The only one living in fantasy land is you.

You are denying that they wanted the belt when Pulev had it, then lost Gassiev's number.

I said no such thing, only that they decided down a different path with more challenging opponents instead.
