I agree that it would help if it is transparent

I seem to think different boards across different countries have completely different rules and testing times on this
It never seems to follow a set pattern and that some appear to be treated differently to others. Whether that is the case, I haven't a clue

Gassiev is gonna be such an easy lick for whoever fights him. Hes not even top 10, had a completely uninspiring performance against a dinosaur in Pulev before getting a bail out ko.

That would require Kabayel to grow a pair... His typical MO is to fight nobodies, making exceptions only for the massively overrated.

Agit reportedly targeting Miller tells you everything about the kind of champion he's likely to be... Hint - the blueprint is fairly recent, in the same belt (ie: throw the big names around, but actually fight the B- and C tier max).

Until Usyk retires or is beaten, he is still the undisputed champion, 'the man' in the HW division.

Let's say there was suddenly a wbss styleHW tournament. In it is

    4 top men
    Kabayel, Dubois, Gassiev and Sanchez
Opponents picked due to possible fights already lined up or discussed

    Round 1
    A. Dubois vs Wardley (rematch) (WBO title fight)
    B. Gassiev vs Joyce (WBA title fight)
    C. Sanchez vs Hrgovic/Itauma winner (vacant IBF title fight)
    D. Kabayel vs Miller (WBC title fight)

You decide how you think Hrgovic/Itauma goes and who will be facing who

    Round 2
A vs B (for WBO and WBA Super HW title)
C vs D (for WBC and IBF HW titles

    Final
For the unified possibly lineal title

If Usyk is not defending against a top 10 opponent or no fight annouced or agreed within a year (agreed date can be later than a year), could it then be a new lineage?

I did read that Miller could be a potential first defence
I didn't think there was anything wrong with that tbh

See the previous post re tournament
Say Usyk is only taking part in fights that interest him, say for example he doesn't retire but faces Wilder, Rico return etc
The imaginary tournament takes place with the said names and Dubois wins, could he then even having lost to Usyk be considered the new lineal champion?

You have your opinion and there are facts to found it on, but i don't agree with your approach. I think you react to the small hype around kabayel a bit too much.

Let's see what he does before we judge him. I am ready for both ways it could go. We saw fury vs tom schwarz and many other ridiculous matchups, joshua vs jake paul etc.

I'm not sure whether it's kabayel's own wish the way his career developed so far or if it is boxing politics that excluded him. I think he was ready to take on usyk, he was already promoting the fight and it seems undeniable that the sheik didn't have enough interest in making the fight and usyk didn't want to Fight for less money than he could have made. So it's pretty clear that kabayel doesn't need to 'grow a pair' in order to fight usyk, that's rather nonsense.

Also yes after the chisora win he fought a bunch of nobodies, but are we pretending we don't know the boxing business at all? What happens when someone turns out to be dangerous, but has no reliable following or ways to attract views? That high risk low reward - noone is interested in making that fight, which puts the financial burden fully on the side of the risky fighter in this case kabayel's team. They probably won't make their money back by beating an opponent they have to pay a lot for.

So it seems those that are taking this stance on kabayel as if kabayel is not willing to take a risk are taking that stance in the environment of a forum that is all too willing to make financial excuses for the big names that fight nobodies compared to themselves at least or crossover fights because they Bring a lot of money.

You could say they have already had their meaningful challenges, but they were brought along as the a side of their fights mostly.

Look at kabayel. B-side against chisora who probably thought it would be easy against kabayel. Betting outsider against makhmudov, sanchez AND zhang. Only then he got the real hype. And those fights came when the sheik paid. Not before.

Now it is anyone's guess whether kabayel was lazy and just didn't want to challenge himself unless big saudi money came along (i wonder how lifechanging that money really was) OR whether it was just his chance to finally get such fights at all.

I think hrgovic's case has a few parallels.

I don't however have any doubts on all the cherry picks from fighter who can choose any opponent they want. Because let's be honest noone is afraid of fighting fury, joshua or canelo or mayweather or the likes. Because the money is there. So whenever they have an easy touch, it is actually their own decision.

    ---
Bottom line, unless I see kabayel going for the mediocre way / not taking challenges that make sense to take I won't judge him so.

I don't see a lot of fighters calling for a kabayel fight. They know their risk reward ratio. Okolie did and then he popped for peds. That's the only one i remember...

I am simply against shitting on the ones that already seem to be on the bottom end of boxings politics. And what kabayel has in standing is certainly 100% earned.

    No.

If Usyk is active and undefeated, no one can be considered lineal other than Usyk.

To be lineal you have to beat the man who beat the man....back to the last lineal champion, in this case, Usyk.

Usyk is 'the man' until he retires or someone beats him.

I guess at least you recognise that the facts are there.

Realistically, it's more the case that lots of guys are overrating and overhyping him based on limited evidence - but feel free to enjoy the ride, if you want.

Those guys weren't interim champions at career high points at that stage though - it's not really the same, is it?

I'm honestly not sure who's pretending...

I mean, promoters can and do build narratives and fanbases around fighters who show potential - even those from unpopular countries.

Kabayel proved he had the potential at a pretty young age, then went into hiding fighting trash as you rightly acknowledge.
The question is "why?" and that's where we disagree - you say his promotion put the effort in to get him that far and lost interest at (at the time) his absolute peak. I say, maybe this guy doesn't care nearly as much as he says he does - and the Hysa/Knyba bull after Zhang and as an interim champ backs up my position more than yours, I'd suggest?

Bottom line, he's already taken that route once and shown signs he's willing to again - I'm ready to judge and happy for him to prove me wrong... He's done enough to not deserve the benefit of the doubt already.

    Not necessarily
A new lineage can form. Consider Lewis retired and a new lineage formed when Vitali beat Sanders. Vitali retired and a new lineage formed and Wladimir became the champion who defended several times.
Fury beat Wladimir but then didn't fight for around two and a half years, to then fight Seferi. Do you feel that was a lineal title defence and that if Fury had have suffered a fluke injury that Seferi would have been the man at HW?

I agree that if Usyk is active and taking on top competitors that definitely, he would be the lineal champion, but I wrote

If Usyk is not defending against a top 10 opponent or no fight annouced or agreed within a year (agreed date can be later than a year), could it then be a new lineage?

What do you consider active from what I wrote above?

    I also wrote
Say Usyk is only taking part in fights that interest him, say for example he doesn't retire but faces Wilder, Rico return etc

Do you feel if he would be lineal champion if not facing at least (or at least having it arranged within a year, even if the fight is outside of a year) one top 10 rated opponent in a year?

    I wrote this previously but
Consider also that if Usyk won't defend against the top opponents and only take fights that interest him. A new lineage could technically form.
Say he stays active fights Rico in a return, then Ngannou, J Paul etc
That would likely be a couple of years if something like that happened

When Usyk fought Rico, people complained that he only fights once a year and was fighting a guy with one win in Rico instead of a top contender, and Usyk was only doing it because it paid a lot. Totally justified anger, by the way.

When Usyk said he was considering a rematch with Rico, fans here said he should be stripped or vacated because it wasn't fair to the top contenders.

However, if a top contender (like Kabayel) gets elevated to full champ, and he tends to only fight once a year, too ... and his first choice is also Rico (who just got knocked out), because it pays a lot ... then WTF is the point?

Why should fans turn on Usyk as champ if the guys replacing him are fighting people he just blasted out and considered fighting again?

Kabayel hasn't announced he's fighting all the top contenders multiple times a year. He wants the guy you wanted to strip Usyk for fighting.

There's no point on turning on Usyk if the guys who want to replace him are going to face unranked opponents (like Gassiev is doing) or guys Usyk just smashed (like Kabayel wants to do).

None of the guys who are ready to step in for Usyk are ready to take on all top contenders four and five times a year. Now that they've all waited around for a vacant belt, and finally got one, they don't want to get their feet wet.

If you want to replace Usyk, then Usyk needs to lose in the ring or someone needs to take over the division like a dynamo - like Mike Tyson did when he waylaid all the former champs and "just hanging-around" mandos.

You don't replace Usyk by just handing a belt to a new face, who spends nearly the whole year inactive, too, and just wants to fight fringe people, himself, for extra bucks.

And I don't know if there are any dynamos out there. This could be a really dark spell.

Yes. Had Seferi beaten Fury, I certainly believe he would have had a legit claim to the lineage (as I mentioned in a recent video).
