No, Gassiev wanted to get some rounds in clearly. Kadiru landed a decent left early, he realized he needed to stop ****ing around, so he promptly ended it when he wanted.

I like your optimism. For a moment it seemed like it could be. A very brief moment.

Kadiru, a fighter from a big country with a big market, got a chance and of course he blew it, as we expected...

I think Gassiev felt he hurt Kadiru 2 or 3 times in the first few rounds but I wasn't sure if Kadiru was playing possum or not for some of those times. He definitely hurt him that time though and the corner saved him from a HL reel exit

Meh, this is simply who Gassiev is at this point. He was as slow to start against Pulev, and the fight before that, and then the fight before that. Gassiev is simply a slow starter who likes to build his work rate. He bursts with energy when it looks like he is losing control tho.
IMO, Gassiev would be a lot more active in the early rounds if any of his opponents managed to push him.

So who will Gassiev eventually cash in his title against? Likely to be the winner of Itauma/Hrgovic unless AJ or Fury decide they need another fight before facing each other.

Itauma has to get in the ring with him first. Thus far. Ituama was offered the fight and this could have been him in the ring tonight. Fact. So let's see Itauma sign and we will talk.
