    Get a better grasp of the English language because your definition of "ducking" is far too broad.

    Joyce lost virtually every second of every round in the first Zhang fight, so of course he was hesitant about a rematch. However, your point falls apart because, guess what? HE TOOK THE REMATCH. So how are you going to claim Joyce was actively ducking punchers throughout his career? What evidence is there? None. Yes, Chisora, Hrgovic, and Suslenkov aren't knockout artists, but Chisora has been described by several modern heavyweights as one of the hardest punchers they've ever faced. On top of that, Joyce fighting four times after Zhang is hardly evidence that he was avoiding punchers. Yes, Joyce quit in the Suslenkov fight, but that's a separate issue and doesn't suddenly prove he spent his career ducking big punchers.

    Joyce said "I don't want a rematch with Zhang", he wanted to duck. He wasn't allowed to in that case, and I don't blame him, but if he'd had his way he would have ducked it.

    That was 38 year old Joyce, not a near 41 year old Joyce with 4 losses in his last 5, on the verge of pulling a quitjob. It is very plausible that the older, beaten down Joyce would duck a fight with a big puncher. And maybe it was wise, as Gassiev would have laid him out badly.

    The sequence of flush shots leading up to the ending were really heavy but because Big Joe is so tough they just bounced of his iron noggin. But make no mistake they would've flatlined the vast majority HWs if they were caught that clean and often by them in quick succession. Suslenkov landed about a dozen of them in the last 20 seconds and about 7 or 8 of them were huge flush bombs and all landed in quick succession right before the end. As tough as Big Joe is he's still human and he had to have really felt them for him to not want anymore

    Suslenkov didn't look very good overall other than the small pockets of success like that he had. I guess those brief pockets are significant because they were able to not only able to keep him in the fight but win it for him in the end. He might have been struggling with Joyces pressure and trying to pace himself, but he would really do well to let the combinations fly more. He might be able to catch the bigger and more cumbersome HW contenders off guard and they might not take those shots as well as Joyce did. So while not too impressed with Suslenkov overall, he showed just enough to not rule out entirely in this new chaotic HW landscape.

    I think he could've and should've done that earlier ie. putting the shots together with speed and accuracy and just adopting that approach in general moving forward because as you say it will serve him well and for Big Joe's sake I wish he had done so too

    The WBA denied the title defense, not Joyce. He also said he wanted to fight Gassiev if he beat Suslenkov.

    I'm not party to exactly why the fight did not happen. But it is plausible to me that Joyce; who ducked the last 4 minutes with Suslenkov, and wanted to duck Zhang 2 a few years ago, ducked Gassiev.

    Yeah did see the finish, but I didn’t see the whole fight so I don’t know how much punishment he took before the stoppage. I thought that maybe something broke in his face, otherwise it’s kinda weird for a guy that’s normally tough to just quit, maybe he’s just done with boxing?
