True that. My bad. My opinion is no more right or any better. Wouldve been a great fight in their primes, thats for sure.
I don’t think you understand. Holyfield is an aggressive counter puncher even in his most defensive minded state. Jimmy young’s entire style is based on defence. In that aspect alone, young has holy beat. and even he barely survived against a foreman whose suffering from heatstroke. Holyfield doesn’t have the same stylistic matchup, nor does He have the same circumstances that allowed young to beat foreman.
His natural frame absolutely is evident he is. Holyfield before training with 8x bodybuilding champ Lee Haney had the natural frame of a 190 CW. Could only imagine how big and strong Foreman would get had he trained that same way.
Prime Foreman might be a bit too fast for his own good. Qualification. Of their actual fight, Holyfield said when he saw George launch a punch, it caused Evander to instinctively duck. However, by the time Evander brought his head back up again, George’s punch had only just arrived, catching Holyfield anyway. It’s not just about speed, it’s about “timing” also. Lol.
Correct. However, it doesn't matter. Holyfield himself admitted that he stood absolutely no chance of outmuscling an old Foreman, hence why he had to resort to outboxing him in their 1991 bout (see below). Prime Foreman, even without Holyfield's strength-training regime, is absolutely stronger than a Prime Holyfield by far. Holyfield on the strongest man he ever faced; "Foreman: Out of all the people, I would say George Foreman was the strongest. And behind him Lennox Lewis and Riddick Bowe. I could push anybody back, it wasn’t a problem. I couldn’t push George back. (Laughs.) You had to go around him." Old Foreman was a bear for sure. I think he was a better, more thoughtful, more measured fighter when he was older.
