Who wins if Rodriguez moves up and fights Inoue? Can Inoue claim another win over a top 10 P4P fighter? If Inoue beats Rodriguez, it might be time to start mentioning him as a top 30 ATG.

Inoue too big right now IMO, but I thought the same with Crawford vs Canelo. Although Crawford is much better at arm’s length than Rodriguez, and Inoue is better at setting guys up from range than Canelo, who could only really come forward with the high guard against Crawford, making his attacks more predictable since the punches have to travel from further back, and being able to measure, change the position of the lead hand etc can disguise your attacks well, which is what I meant when I said Inoue does it better than Canelo. Rodriguez is a great boxer, but relies on the shell at times, and Inoue is very accurate and precise with that right, and he can go to the head and body with it, and I’m not sure Rodriguez could take it.
Crawford was a really big dude himself. Unlike Crawford, who was slightly taller than Canelo, Rodriguez is shorter than Inoue. But Rodriguez is a big dude, even at 118, and hes only 26. I don't think Inoue will have much of a size advantage if the fight happens, but Rodriguez will for the first time face someone he does not outweigh by a significant margin.
At the same time, Inoue does have flaws and has left himself open, getting knocked down in the process. Bam's fists are like lasers seeking out openings like that, and he's got beautiful timing letting him catch guys when they didn't expect it. He's got a lot of one punch KD's and KO's because of this. I have to bet heavily on Inoue if they fight now. But if Bam can have at least one more at 118, and then one at 122, prior to facing Inoue, he's got a fair shot at it. I understand it might well happen in early 2027 because Turki will pay Bam money he'd never otherwise earn for it, but it shouldn't. Then again, if Bam steps up to face the monster, loses but heads home with a 10mil check in his pocket, he's probably ok with it.
Bam is going to try and age Inoue out for as long as possible he knows if he takes the fight now he is getting wrecked.
I don't think one can even fairly accuse Bam of "aging him out". The fact remains, they are two guys at completely different stages of their careers. I think the accusation is entirely unfair to Rodriguez. As I stated in a fairly recent video: "Bam has now had just 1 fight at 118. Inoue, on the other hand - he’s had 18 fights at 118 or higher, and half of those fights have been at 122. So it would be perfectly understandable for Bam to want and need another fight to grow accustomed to 118, let alone getting accustomed to 122 for a fight against the P4P King of Boxing today."
