Let's be real about Agit Kabayel

Kabayel is the defacto #1 HW in the world given Usyk ducked him (and has the right to duck him and dropped belts to remain honourable) and Fury (a man in his prime who would PLAY with Agit) isn't interested either, atleast in till he has chinned AJ for big money.

Kabayel is deceptive, he's smart, fights great gameplans, is tough as they come, When he squares on can crack anyone over and them bodyshots are grueling. Prime Fury runs rings around him but Fury knows right now he gets bodysnatched by Kabayel and Usyk fears the same.

People need to realize these guys arn't unknown. Fury has sparred atleast 2 fight distances with Kabayel 24 rounds...and I think Usyk has done even more with him. Fury didn't use him for a comeback fight in 2019 and same for AJ post Ruiz chinning. In boxing circles very rarely does a man appear out of the woodwork and cause a ruckus, Kabayel is known by them all and has been the highest risk lowest reward for the past 7/8 years. Bakole was the same....not a joke but his lack of activity and getting fat out of camp ruined his potential.

Usyk got his reality check from the gods of war in his last fight and he took that seriously immedityl stepping down off that top step. He'll fight for money and retire which is fair enough. Boxing is a young mans sport.

 

39/40 year old Usyk, especially coming off a career worst performance, may well duck Kabayel. Gassiev, Huck (shopworn at that), Glowacki, Bellew, Joyce (WSB at that), Verhoeven and Chisora (H2H loss) are not as good or dangerous as Kabayel, minimum. You could likely throw in Hunter too.

 

I'm not having a pop but those are two of Parker's three best wins, plus Kabayel is undefeated. Sanchez is a good win too. If you place a premium on the combo of the 0 plus good wins, Kabayel has a strong resume. Fury 2 losses and 1 draw, Dubois 3 losses, AJ 4 etc.

 

I get your point, but Parker has a better resume than Kabayel does and has simply fought better opposition overall (even if he has a number of losses). Sanchez was also injured and could barely stand on that leg for very long, so there's a big asterix on that win for me.

Being undefeated doesn't mean a hell of a lot if your resume is that thin either, plus there's the inactivity.

Dubios would be a good opponent for Kabayel. No reason why it can't happen.

 

Has Kabayel fought anyone who can box and was mobile and didn't just stand there like a statue to eat body shots?

 

Usyk did duck him. Whether it was a financial duck or a duck out of fear, he still ducked Kabayel.

And I find it funny how Usyk fanboys suddenly have a problem with Kabayel being inactive. The same people had no issue when Usyk spent a year inactive while waiting to fight a 1–0 boxer who hadn't earn a shot.

 

Sure but just fighting twice a year consistently could have made a big difference in terms of resume and legacy. An additional fight per year allows Usyk to work in Kabayel, Sanchez, Parker and maybe another contender or two

 

Knocked out Frank Sanchez and the whole age thing for Zhang is hilarious cause he only became a contender when he was old and it's not like he showed any serious decline up until that point

 

Sanchez was injured and didn't really have his legs under him, and Zhang was at his oldest at that point even if he did become a contender much later than usual (but the manner of the victory is definitely impressive). Prior to that you have to go back around a decade for his win over Chisora.

Let's face it, Kabayel has essentially been sitting on his backside for most of his career. He needs to step it up.

 

How on Earth is justus honey a standout? He has zero power and zero good wins.

 

Right, right. Number 1 heavyweight in the world who was knocked down in 2nd round by Smakici who's #196 in world heavyweight rankings. What a great number 1 heavyweight.

The inactivity excuse doesn’t work when Kabayel has also been fighting once a year like boxing is a dental check-up. The difference is Usyk’s opponents are top-shelf killers, while Kabayel was getting sat down by Smakici from the bargain-bin rankings. A real elite heavyweight doesn’t get embarrassed by #196 and then act like Usyk owes him a legacy fight. Kabayel didn’t storm the castle — he found a paper belt on the reception desk. That’s not conquering the castle, that’s finding the keys after the king moved out.

Usyk collected heavyweight belts by walking through Joshua, Fury, and Dubois like a man doing royal debt collection. Kabayel got his title like Gmail had a good day: “Dear Agit, congratulations, your paper championship has been activated.” One guy beat kings for the crown, the other got promoted by office paperwork. That comparison needs a referee stoppage.

Usyk didn’t duck him; he just refused to turn his final chapter into a low-budget sparring session.
