Saw this guy on DAZN the other night. Supposedly a prospect, but looked as ordinary as they come against very mediocre opposition.

Worse, his record suggests he might be packing some glass in them thar mandible:

He was taken out by one of the tomato cans he's been facing a few fights back:

While the stoppage was grossly premature, if he's getting rocked so badly against guys like this, it doesn't bode well for the future when, or if, he steps it up!

Glass chin and no stamina from the look of things. All for the Harris' and Fishers of the world being picked up by big promoters and networks though. Glass jawed heavyweights make for some exciting fights and knockouts.

Losing to a part timer tells you everything you need to know.

If he's promoted well, fights once a year, and carefully hand picks his opponents, he can be elevated to champion status by email by one of the sanctioning bodies, just like Kabayel.

People are obsessed with "glass chins" on this forum. No one can ever get KO-ed once or else they get labelled as having a glass chin. It's boxing... most fighters will get KO-ed at some point in their career. Not everyone can be an Usyk, Wardley or prime Joyce.

And based on that evidence, it's nothing to do with his chin... it's another clear example of a big, tall guy with a terrible gas task (in the mould of big David Price). If anything, his chin is pretty good, considering he took a lot and still stood up, despite being absolutely spent. I agree... typical British stoppage, near the end of the round as well. But I doubt things were gonna get any better for him.

Glass jaws exist in boxing. And Matty Harris much like David Price who came before him appears to lack in the chin as well as conditioning departments.

Yes, of course they do. People like Amir Khan, Dillian Whyte, Alen Babic, the old version of Roy Jones Jr. are examples of glass chins. And yes, Price had a glass chin as well as a terrible gas tank, I won't dispute that. Plenty more I could probably name.

But not everyone who gets KO-ed has one. According to BoxRec, Harris hasn't even been down yet in his career. He got stopped on the feet after taking some big shots, after being gassed. So how can he have a glass chin?

Just to be clear, at this point the argument being made is that Harris' chin is suspect or questionable, not confirmed glass. However, having asserted this, while there could be other explanations for his being taken out, such as the training/stamina issues that are most certainly apparent here, it may also be that this guy just doesn't take a good punch.

In short, we should all be watching, with a critical eye, to how his mandible holds up as he moves forward in his career - a course of action which all discerning boxing fans would be wise to follow.

There were rumours he sparked Itauma in sparring! Must have been a lucky punch because Itauma beats him in his sleep!

Interesting. Source? If so we may need to keep a close eye on Itauma.
