I can't think of 2 x boxers with more diametrically opposed styles than Taylor and Toney.

Tsylor was tall, rangy, lean, mobile and extremely fast. He had poor stamina and durability. He excelled at long range and was vulnerable to pressure fighters on the inside. He was a nightmare for boxers, you didn't box Taylor, you went straight at him.

Toney was short, stocky, had a chin of pure iron and was brilliant on the inside, both defensively and counter punching. He could be a little static. Toney wanted his opponent to come to him. He was a nightmare to brawlers and pressure fighters, whilst vulnerable to speedy long range boxers. You didn't go to Toney, you boxed around him at long range.

That's before you consider that the 6ft 1ins 40 year old Hopkins was struggling badly to make 160lbs for Taylor.

I think I agree the only thing that should come into play s Toney didn't always train like he should and Hopkins was always prepared.
But i agree at their very best I would also say Toney.

Unfortunately I try to keep each of this to be around month. I thought Hopkins was going to win but I thought it was going to be closer than this. I think if this ends up being the blow out it seems like it's going to be, I might go ahead skip the few guys I was thinking about sending to Hopkins and just jump to one of the big 4 for August's match.

    Hopkins wins a 7-5, 8-4 type decision.
