Anthony Joshuas career is a disappointment

If he beat Fury it would not be. As it stands though.

AJ has some good wins but he has two losses to the No.1, along with KO losses to No.4 (ducked rematch) and No.8. And he has not fought perhaps his top rivals, No.2 and No.5.

 

You'll just have to live with it.

We witnessed the physical decline, which you could even see visibly in his appearance, a bit like Spence vs Crawford, who also looked visibly physically different following his crash.

But on the other hand, I believe we also witnessed the crash being the only reason Joshua won that fight tonight. He looked better when hurt and facing adversity, than he has done at any previous point where he has been hurt since Klitschko. And sure, you can attribute that to the fact he's fighting a lesser opponent, but Joshua doesn't normally resort to holding and roughing up his opponent when hurt, his ego usually takes over and he tries to box his way out of trouble.

People will rightly have Fury as favourite for their fight, in fact many would've had Fury favourite regardless of when they would have met throughout their careers.

Unironically tonight, despite having what was right up there as the worst round of his career, Joshua fought on instinct, something I've not seen him do since fighting Klitschko. That's the Joshua he needs to find, in order to beat Fury. Not the guy who in the ring, before the fight, was still discussing tactics with his corner....The guy who fights as if he's hurt from round 1.

Can Joshua beat Fury? Yes.
Will he beat him? I doubt it.

His only chance, is if he goes in that ring and fights on instinct and emotion. If he goes in with a "Plan" he's got no chance, he shouldn't be analysing anything for the fight.
He needs to get as fit as he can, and just throw bombs from the second that bell rings.

 

I'll keep saying it. AJ needs to come with the intention of knocking Fury out. Get on your front foot and go for it - think what AJ would do to Fury's body. That is what he does best. Not just standing there like a lollipop pretending everyone you fight respects you. Look what happened with Dubois and Prenga. Even Helenius bloodied him up not too long ago.

What suits AJ against Fury is that Fury doesn't come to fight to gain your respect. But AJ probably doesn't have the skills to outbox Fury. So IMO quit pretending to a master boxer, because that just isn't the case.

Prenga and Dubois did and it was unbearable enough for AJ.

I just worry he's going to try and "Prove" he can box with a guy who is probably the best "Boxer" of his size we've ever seen in the Sport with Fury.

He must recognise he can't outlast Fury and he just has to throw everything at him in a single round shootout.

 

The first Ruiz fight was truly the end.

Completely shifted his mentality and the way he fought.

 

AJ got hurt against 41 Wlad in the 2nd half of the 5th round and lost the rest of the fight until the 11th round. 27 AJ was just surviving, and the only reason he made it is Wlad was a bottler and didn't throw the kitchen sink at AJ.

Likewise, Prenga had AJ finished in round 1 but incomprehensively he did a Lerena in round 2. AJ had a bum in front of him, that was the only reason he won.

AJ got destroyed by Ruiz and Dubois because 1. They were not tactically inept like Wlad 2. They were not bums like Prenga

 

I think honestly it sounds crazy. Put all your training marbles in your schedule into cardio and just do what he does best against Fury - which is hunting one down on the front foot - and early. He needs to gain Fury's respect more and more so as the rounds creep in.

AJ can absolutely KO Fury and early if its a shootout. Fury's belly is wide open all day.

 

I was expecting these excuses after he lost to Fury, not after his tune up
