Hanging it up? He has been retired for 3 years. Spence needed some money to cover his lawsuit. That's the only reason he pulled the gloves on again. He got his payday. Now it's back to retirement and good luck to him.

Tszyu's lack of ring IQ is painful. Spence knew he was far more frail than him and went the work-rate route to compensate, but he could only really keep it up until round 5 with considerate success. He was on his bicycle a lot more after that.

And Tszyu just kinda did nothing for that. No double jabs, seemed to fall in love with the right hands due to his round 6 acurracy with them, and pretty sure he never threw a feint or an uppercut to the head throughout the entire fight. He had so many chances too, especially when Spence would clinch after every 2 exchanges. A step back-right uppercut would have been huge. And Spence's right eye was half closed in round 12, and he's a southpaw. The left hook is right on the blind side and Tszyu threw like maybe 2 of them the entire round.

If Tszyu wasn't a crude walk em down fighter and had some sort of offensive creativity, this could have been stopped by round 9 or 10.

He was never the most sophisticated fighter even when he was undefeated. I was somewhat impressed by the way he managed to overwhelm an old Tony Harrison and thought that he could become the top dog at 154 if he continued to build on that performance, but he just never took that next step in terms of becoming a craftier and smarter fighter.

3 years out of the ring, fighting two weight divisions above his optimal primal weight, what more could you really ask from Spence Jr?

I was going to fly to Sydney to watch this but I ultimately settled on the view that it was a bit of a cash grab and a meaningless contest.

Congrats to Tszyu and hopefully he wins another world title, I don't see how this proves that he is world level at 160 pounds though.

Not sure if Tim has power at 160. He also seem slower too.

I thought Tim would get a tko of spence by about round six, I had Tim 115 to 113 but I don't think a draw is out of the question, yes Spence looked older and shot but scoring the rounds you have to actually watch what is happening, Spence was like an older sports car with the transmission blowing out and smoke coming out of the engine, Tszyu was a lesser model sports car that had been rebuilt after a few bad car accidents that was reluctant to press on the gas in fear of it all falling apart, but in a car race its who gets to the finish line first, you can't judge the smoke. I am a Tszyu fan but the Murtza and 2nd Fundora losses have made him more tentative, perhaps that is necessary.

Ditching 154 and going for Lara at 160 makes sense. And I do not think that is necessarily an easy fight for Tszyu even though Lara is around 74 years old he is still dangerous.

Looking forward to what is next for Tim and glad to see Spence retiring. decent fight.

    also

nobody is going to send a contract to Fulton for a fight below 140. If he wants to continue at 135 ( I think 130 is impossible after missing it twice) he will probably have to prove it on some non main non comain fights buried in the undercards at 135 vs mid levels to prove he can make weight..........or perhaps have a bigger fight at 140. No high level 130/135 is going to risk a ten week camp to have him show up almost ten pounds over the originally contracted weight.
