I really have no interest in seeing the two fight. It’s at least 5 years too late at this point and the result will tell us nothing meaningful anyways.

AJ is terrible these days. Hasn’t had a really big win in years. Usyk comfortably beat him twice, battered by Dubois, down twice to that Prenga guy who’s probably not even top 50.

Fury is still a good fighter. But he doesn’t really have the stamina or movement anymore to make his style really work.

Regardless of who wins or loses, I don’t see either sticking around and doing anything meaningful in the division. It’s most likely a final payday for two fighters well on their way down.

Agreed. I'll watch this fight from my suite in Dubai with little interest.

Fight is too late? Off course. But still its interesting match to close one important threat- who deserve silver medal of this post Klitschko Era.
Usyk got gold but this 2 must prove who is better now.
And then they can close this chapter and retire.
If You are not interested just dont watch it but I bet You will watch, probably with red face and high pulse on fightnight xD

sure but you'll still watch it. obviously its past being the era defining fight it would have been when it could have been for undisputed but its a fight worth having just to settle the score.

I don’t think we can use this fight to determine who was number 2 though. If it happened even 3 or 4 years ago, then yeah.

But these versions of both fighters tell us nothing about what would have happened a few years back.

Tbh, I’l watch it just to see Joshua starched into the abyss, same thing with Khan vs Brook. Hell if I’m paying for it though, I’ll need those pennies for food.

Off course we can. They both achived big stuff, both got their sucses. Both lost to Usyk twice but were on top of division for years.
Winner will not be number 2 right now because they can loose to others but to close chapter who deserve 2 place after Usyk? Imo we can.

We just had Tszyu vs Spence in Australia which was promoted to death locally, and all it was about was two has-beens grabbing a big retirement package. Tszyu will have a few more fights, but won't have a chance with the elite in his division, whatever that division is now.

    Pressers will be worth iT

To see a man with genuine confidence in Fury rip through a shell of a facade that AJ holds. He might start crying...

Simple fact neither AJ and Fury would be interested in the bout, unless they thought they would earn mega amount of money for the bout.

While folk are willing to continue paying to watch these shadows of their former selves in the squared circle, they both will take the money.

Sadly I have to agree with OP. This fight is at least 5 years too late. The golden gleam of the fight is gone.

Both of them looking vulnerable makes it interesting as they’re both similarly degraded from their peaks, Joshua is rarely in a boring fight and Fury has drama in him when he’s against a dangerous opponent. I’ve always thought Tyson would grind him down and stop him and still think that but AJ can crack and is always dangerous until he is counted out. With the belts randomly sent to the four corners of the world either of them could even grab another title with the current state of the division.
