His chin is highly suspect but in all defeats hes never quit and always has a way back into a fight like last night. It was the same even against Dubois Joshua came back strong and got over confidnet and walked into the final Bomb. A glass canon is always exciting to watch as he could take out any heavyweight in the world if he gets them going.
I e said this before - As time goes on the Joshua loss looks worse and worse for Wlad. Yes Wlad had been inactive for like 17 months yes he was 41 but his reluctance to just finish Joshua off in that 5th round was the difference in the fight. Had Wlad just pressed it instead of hanging back and being cautious and over thinking it we would have seen the result Joshua suffered in the Ruiz fight earlier. Joshua has always been a mentally fragile Glass Jawed Fighter.
Yeah he’s not fought anybody really of note except the fight he lost, however he has still knocked them out meaning he had the classic punchers chance and displayed that in round 1 lol, he knows how to knock people out even if they’re not former world champs.
In the amateurs among others he beat Cammarelle x 2 Big Bang Zhang Dychko Big Joe Joyce Frazer Clarke Kuzmin Lost to Savon Majidov Nistor All of those guys were massive punchers or can crack Anyone who thinks chins don't get tested in amateur boxing doesn't know what they're talking about, especially even more so at SHW and HW Timestamped This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected The only one of all the aforementioned SHWs to stop AJ was Nistor and even though he was knocked bandy-legged look at the shots it took to do so and he was still on his feet. They were monstrous perfectly timed left crosses which landed flush on the chin with a sickening thud and they were KO shots. Hrgovic said Nistor was one of the hardest punchers he fought and the hardest up until recently when he fought Adeleye This content is protected In the pros AJ beat huge punchers like Wlad Povetkin Whyte I don't care if Wlad and Povetkin were old they were still massive punchers and very dangerous with some of the best HW KO HL reels you'll ever see And obviously Fat Andy in the rematch and now Prenga Big or pretty good punchers like J-Park Martin Helenius Takam Breazeale And he went 24 rounds with a prime or much closer to prime Usyk when Dubois was KO'd x 2 by a past prime and old past prime Usyk and Belly was a whisker away from being KO'd by a past prime Uysk and the only reason he wasn't is thanks to the ref saving him from a certain KO defeat Dubois was an in shape 250lbs with a KO95% and Prenga and in shape 250lbs with a KO100% And prior to the KO he took bombs from Dubois which would've flatlined most HWs and even the likes of Lennox Lewis who was one punch sparked or iced x 2 in the midst of his prime and he didn't take near the punishment in those fights prior to getting iced as AJ did vs Dubois Mike Tyson had been KO'd or stopped x 4 by the time he was AJ's age and he was stopped a further 2 x by a bum and Euro level when he was a just over a year and 2 years older respectively than AJ is now AJ's chin was never great and is obviously not what it once was now but he's fought a lot of punchers amateur and pro only been KO'd x 1 and has got back up from all the other KDs he's suffered and gone onto win all those fights sans Fat Andy 1
Given what we know about certain fighters in that part of the world, some of the fights on his record may have not even taken place. Its very easy to fake a whole set of KOs to make yourself look like a stone cold killer, when all your opponents have losing records and are part time boxers.
I think his Chin used to be a 7/10 now its like a 5 or 6 hard to say Being hit that much by Dubois plus the car accident has likely taken a toll on him
Yes, he's packing pure china in that mandible and only a delusional glass jaw denier or utterly blind fanboy would dispute this, period.
It feels to me that he just gets hit more than he used to as well. His chin's always been poor but he can't seem to protect himself like he used to, to avoid that.
He does now; he's shot to pieces, but nobody with a glass jaw takes a full-blooded right hand off Wlad and climbs off the canvas. He was never blessed with an iron chin, but on balance it was probably average as far as heavyweights go; it's much easier to say he has a glass chin now that the horse has bolted and every clean shot has him in trouble.
I still reckon it was that right hand from Wlad that cracked his chin. That was a brutal shot and AJ actually did well to survive that.
I remember when people......................on here.................were saying he'd slice right through Lennox and was perhaps H2H building up to be the best HW ever............
