Next week's fights for Fury and Joshua

No one had heard of Prenga before this fight.
AJ's tuneup needed to be someone that everyone knows
But looks like they wanted the safest opponent possible for AJ.

I think AJ has been shot for a while now.
But he is still a big draw in England
Just like a shot Timmy is a big draw in Austrailia

 

Ah yeah, I understand what you're saying. I have noticed they are now putting literally anything on PPV since DAZN Ultimate came on the scene. Even the big kickboxing fights. I like my kickboxing, but they can't surely be making much money off of them alone. Still... I'm thinking of getting the Ultimate package, as I watch a hell of a lot of boxing, PPV or not, and the kickboxing fights, so I feel it'd be worth it in the long run rather than paying for every individual PPV. And two PPVs on the same day, like last night, is ridiculous. I'm gonna go through my purchase history and see how much money I've spent every month on PPVs, and then I'll decide from there. I guess if you're someone like me who doesn't like to miss out on anything, I'm probably a dream customer (sucker) of theirs. Not saying I'm happy about it, but it is what it is I guess.

Have to say, I agree with most of that. I've always thought Fury would beat Joshua, but now, my god, I don't think Joshua stands a chance against him. His chin and punch resistance is totally gone. It's such a shame, as like always, it would have been such a great fight years ago, but they have ****ed around for so long, and this is what happens. Makes my blood boil to be honest, that stupid politics robs us of seeing potentially historic fights like that. And this is why I'm sick of warm-ups too, as there's always the potential for them to go wrong. And while AJ won, we saw how diminished he now is.

I'd be open to seeing Joshua fight the likes of Whyte, Wilder and Ortiz now, as they are all pretty much as shot as he is. A fight with Whyte would probably turn out to be pretty exciting, knockdowns guaranteed. Same with Ortiz... although Ortiz would probably still get obliterated if I'm honest.

I'm not sure if I'm totally onboard with the whole conspiracy about why Prenga looked different in the second round. He compared it to the Dubois/Lerena fight. Like, if you're going to "fix" a fight, why would you allow the opposition to knock down your fighter twice? Or in Lerena's case three times? Seems too much of a risk, how can you guarantee that your fighter won't get KO'd? You'd surely do what Jake Paul's opponents tend to do, like Tyron Woodley and Chavez Jr... and have them not throw any significant punches whatsoever. I've never understood that. Even if there's some kind of shady agreement, that, after the first round, you stop trying... why would you still take that risk? Especially with a chin like Joshua's which is absolutely gone? My impression at the time was that Prenga had somehow gassed himself out pretty quickly, or had gotten hurt by something I hadn't noticed. I dunno.
