Yeah, using Simon Jordan as an expert on boxing isn't doing your argument any favors.

I've been watching boxing for 30+ years. I've seen countless bums get a good start and then fall to pieces. It's what they tend to do because, ya know, they're bums. Prenga is a club level fighter. He fights complete pushovers up in Atlantic City or wherever and has never had to deal with any adversity in his career. He's never had someone hit him like AJ. Dude blew his load in Round 1, adrenaline dumped, didn't finish AJ off because he sucks, and then realized AJ was going to be a problem. So he shelled up and played it cautious because he was gassed and unsure of what to do.

If you've been paid off and going to take a dive there are plenty of ways to do it that don't involve eating massive punches and getting knocked limp through the ropes. You pull a Malik Scott and let a punch that half gets through your guard and lands on your upper chest be the "knockout" shot. You take a grazing punch and sell it a bit. Prenga got knocked the **** out. Again, because he's a terrible fighter who has never fought anyone legit in his entire career. Any legit HW would have finished AJ in the 1st.

Never attribute to malice what can adequately be explained by incompetence.

Wow, so much hate for Prenga in a single post.

No hate, just facts. He is who he is and he bottled his chance.

And what's worse? Saying Prenga isn't a good boxer or accusing him of being a corrupt POS who got paid off to take a dive?

We should give Prenga the credit he deserves, he dropped the former unifed heavyweight champion and Olympic gold medalist. He didn't look like a bum to me, the way he dropped AJ with that uppercut was absolutely thrilling.

Joshua confirmed what I've been thinking since his fight with Dubois, that he's finished and he'd be better off retiring. But first there's a lot of money to be made for him and Fury in a fight that comes too late. Obviously there is better in heavyweight division.

I still have to see Sheeraz's match, which didn't seem to shine at all. Personally I consider him inferior to Iglesias, Pacheco and Adames, against whom he lost in my opinion.

No not really , I think Hamzah he will defend his title for now .. maybe 2 back to back camps took their toll? Left his best work in the gym ..

He was a complete different fighter in May just 2 months ago lol there were no gears last night like he was stuck in 1st gear..

Only positive from last night was he got 12 rounds under his belt because he has been quite inactive last 12 months ..

Hopefully now he has a good few months off from training camp then have a big fight secured for Nov/Dec ..

Boxing is a corrupt sport. We all know that. And yes, there have been plenty of fixed fights over its history where guys have been paid off to take a dive. Most of that, however, goes back to when the mob had their greasy fat fingers all over the sport. It rarely happens these days. Much easier to just match your guy with a dude nowhere near his level and/or wine and dine the judges so you get favorable cards.

Maybe some of you ignorant folks claiming that the fight was fixed haven't actually seen a dude take a dive before. So I'm here to educate ya and show you what it really looks like.

In our first example, Big Bang Zhang is fighting some no hoper named Tate. I imagine Tate didn't get paid off to dive, but rather he wanted to avoid getting his head knocked off his shoulders and needed a way out. So we find the first fighter in history who has a glass shoulder instead of a glass jaw!

Same deal here when Malik Scott, deciding that he'd rather not get slept in front of a crowd and that discretion is the better part of valor, takes a dive versus Wilder. The punch clearly lands on his guard and does no damage. But Scott sells it a bit and stays down.

Now for an actual fixed fight and not someone just trying to save their ass, we have Ali vs. Liston. Yes, the punch lands. No, that piddly nonsense wasn't near enough to have Sonny mf'ing Liston flopping on the canvas. He gets up and is fine and then the ref conveniently waves the fight off after a punch or two. Liston had huge ties with the mob and the FBI actually investigated over this whole deal.

Here is an actual somewhat recent fight that was investigated and determined to be fixed. Briggs takes a ridiculous dive off a nothing punch.

When you're taking a dive you make it look good for a round or two and then the first chance you get you go over. You sell a knockout from a punch that doesn't do any real damage. The problem with trying to fix fights is that boxers are not actors. They suck at selling they've actually been knocked out. And they don't want to take actual damage to help the charade. And again, you just don't need to fix fights anymore. You find some completely over-matched guy or a guy well past it (like Fury did with Wach) and you let them get beat on and everyone knows they'll lose.

If you've been paid off to take a dive what you don't do is swing for the fences in Round 1 and almost KO the cash cow. But maybe you just screwed up and hit him a little too hard? Well, then you certainly wouldn't continue to attack him for the rest of the round like Prenga did. Then what you further do not do is allow yourself to get hit with 4-5 huge shots from a power puncher like AJ that sends you limp through the ropes. This right here is not a dive. It's a club level fighter who has faced zero real adversity in his career getting smashed.

Prenga blew his load in the 1st round (actually a good strategy against AJ if we're being honest). He probably got an adrenaline dump after the KD and once he had to go sit in the corner after the round was over it left him. When they came back out for the 2nd, AJ was much more composed and was using his jab. Prenga felt that **** and decided he didn't want to be getting hit with that kind of power. He didn't want to throw and eat a counter. So he shelled up and got smoked. I've seen it happen to a zillion guys over the years. This dude collar tied AJ and landed a punch AJ didn't see coming which sent him down. And we all know how AJ reacts after a hard shot. Once the danger was over though, it was always going to be back to business as usual against a guy of Prenga's caliber. So enough with the fixed talk. You're just embarrassing yourselves.

Looks like it will be Sheeraz vs Bank next and Sheeraz believed that was going to be the case prior to last night because he said so in an interview I watched a day or two ago

Based of last night's performance you'd have to favour Bank but, as I mentioned last night, I wonder if Sheeraz intentionally looked bad vs Bavaria's finest Simon Zachenhuber to try and lull Bank into a false sense of security because he considers him a serious threat and he's his mando. I'm not saying he did, and they have sparred each other before, but for whatever reason Sheeraz was holding back and not letting his hands go like he usually does for long spells last night especially in the 2nd half of the fight and one has to wonder what that reason was.

Either he suffered a hand injury, really couldn't deal with Simon Zachenhuber's southpaw style and movement, or he was trying to lull mover Bank into a false sense of security. It could be a case of 2 of those combined

If he suffered a hand injury I respect the fact that he immediately shut that down and didn't try to use it as an excuse even though it would be a valid one

I also don't think Simon Zachenhuber's southpaw style and movement was super tricky to figure out. I think Simon Zachenhuber is competent, had a good game plan, and is tough, much tougher than expected.

If Simon Zachenhuber had a powerful backhand and threw it a lot more up top which he should of anyway Sheeraz would've been in trouble and his reluctance to let his hands go as much as usual would've been more understandable but Simon Zachenhuber didn't

I don't really dispute that they were #2 and #3 of their era. But, this demonstrates how weak this era is. I have been avidly watching boxing for almost 50 years. I am having a harder and harder time continuing to watch each passing year. Boxing is just descending into the toilet.
