Is Joshua-Fury still an intriguing fight as nobody is sure who has declined worse at this stage?

Fury takes his tune-up, every one says he's washed beyond belief and will be splattered by AJ... AJ takes his tune-up, and now he's actually the one who is the most washed and would be finished by Fury.

Is it a battle of the declines that still makes this fight interesting?

Yeah, that exactly why this IS an intriguing fight. Sometimes these aging warhorses put on good, memorable fights

I think them being HWs help too. As few people expected any KOs by the time Manny and Mayweather fought, but even years past boxers over 250 lbs can likely still KO each other.

British casual sports fans are mentally deficient, they will buy it.

Fury making AJ cry in the 1st presser alone will be worth it.

    Yes it is

At the end of the day the characters involved matter

Some of the best fights ever were between fighters past their best

Like Ali vs Fraizer 3 for example

That's the key selling point for me at this stage

    Exactly this!

Not everything has to be "Elite" fighters

Many a time such fighters are in boring fights

There are important factors that make this, actually, a more intriguing fight that perhaps it was in their primes!!

Has Joshua's punch resistance declined to such a point where a light-hitter like Fury can put him on the canvas and keep him there?

And what about Fury - have his reflexes and recuperative powers declined to such a point where Joshua is more likely to put him down and out?

Honestly I'm looking forward to it. And I'm glad I decided to spring for the DAZN Ultimate subscription - so I won't have to pay extra!!

Wilder/Joshua is much more interesting now as well.

People are knee-jerk nincompoops. I still am very interested. Let's remember that Fury is NORMALLY all over the place. He always has been. I have no idea what he's got left in the tank no matter how garbage he looks. As far as AJ, I still can easily see the stopping power spelling doom, considering he's much more skilled and physically strong than Wilder, despite not having the exact same level of one-punch ability or Fury just being too cunning for him from start to finish whether cards or knockout. Complete question mark to me.

Good points but the nagging question of who would have won in their primes will remain unresolved and probably still debated forever.

It's gone from the biggest undisputed heavyweight fight in history, and the "biggest British sporting event since '66" (to quote Frank), to simply a past-it dust up.

We are not seeing primes at all, so it'll be a battle of attrition, or seeing who's simply not got it anymore.

The intrigue in this fight is completely different now. It's not pinnacle of the sport, as it could have been. I'm filing it alongside Kell v Khan. Too late, but well promoted. Hopefully this one isn't as one sided as that though!

The promoters have got a job on to get the taste buds going too, that's for sure, as fans are smelling through the bull****. But, come fight week, I'm sure the country will be buzzing.

Tbh, I'm not bothered with the AJ or Fury story anymore. I'll only be glued in for fight week, everything else, leading up, is chip paper.

Intriguing clash of characters in the media for sure. That's why it was interesting seeing them sort-of trade off finally a few months back. I kind of feel that Eddie will try and dampen the potential trash talk, by mentioning AJ's recent losses though.

Each guy has regressed from their best. But it's still an interesting fight.
