An interesting all-Argentinian slugfest. Any ideas on who has the edge in this fantasy match up?

I like Castro. He is naturally bigger and more durable.

I love both fighters, as I do most Argentine boxers. They have an X factor to them.

But if this is at 154, Jorge beat no one at that weight, a bunch of locals and actually lost a couple there, while JCV had 10 title defenses there, beating everyone from Carl Daniels to Winky Wright to Pernell Whitaker if you scored that fight correctly. If this fight is both guys in their 154 form, JCV wins it going away.

Great fight. I lean slightly towards Castro. But, there isn't much in it.

I don't get this match-up. They didn't really fight in the same division.

They both fought at 154 and 168

But Castro fought no one of any importance at 154 while JCV was one of that division's greatest champs ever.

Meanwhile JCC didn't fight at 168 until 5 years after his run at 154, when he was completely shot.

If this fight is at 154, Castro has no chance. Anything above and we get the shot version of JCV.

Castro did fight Terry Norris at 154 but lost to him. He didn't really become a major player until he won the title at 160 in a comeback fight with Jackson.

Let's say hypothetically speaking the JCV who performed well at 154 was able to fight just as good at 160 and faced off the version of Castro who managed to beat John David Jackson and Reggie Johnson. I think stylistically this would have been interesting to speculate.

Vasquez IMO, on the strength of his straighter, more precise punching & better technique.
