Jakhongir Lazizbek Ugli Zokirov born May 17th 2003 is a 6'7 southpaw Heavyweight with 2-0 2 KO's record. Born in and fighting out of Dzhizak, Uzbekistan. But trains in the Brickhouse Boxing Gym in Hollywood, California under the tutelage of his father Lazizbek Zokirov and Khamid Tangriberganov. While I haven't been keeping track of teh amateurs nearly as much as I used to, when I saw Zokirov dominating Agron Smakici in the IBA, the man who almost stopped Kabayel and Jalolov got a gift stoppage against, I sat up and took notice! So I looked into his record as an amateur and it was impressive, closely losing recently only to the best in Aybek Oralbay, Davit Chaloyan and Lazizbek Mullojonov. He's still quite young, but already he's a natural, who for a tank like behemoth is quite light on his feet, has fairly fast hands, throws quality combinations, has decent head movement, surprisingly slick defense and appears to be quite heavy handed. When I've seen him eat a flush punch, he takes them very well. He's incredibly patient, keeps his composure while under pressure and has a terrific eye for finding openings and when none are there for him, he creates them. They don't need to rush him, but Zuffa Boxing have a potential beast on their hands, who if managed well, could prove to be one of the future standouts in the Heavyweight division. Now that this current generation finally head off into retirement. So check out the Brick Uzbek Axlathouse in action!:ggg:ggg:ggg:ggg

Good stuff, I like the look of him and I will check out some more footage of him, other than the footage I recently watched upon your recommendation

Yes! Uzbek take over is imminent.

Let’s hope he doesn’t waste as much time in the amateurs as big bro Bakhodir and fully commits to pros after 2028 olympics at the latest.

He's already turned pro for Zuffa, so it's a possibility that if his career takes off, he swerves the Olympics.

I like Surov too, but pump the brakes. Zokirov's amateur record puts Surov's to shame. Also the match he had with Mullojonov, who I rate highly, was razor close.

I thought the same a few years ago. But then they all flopped in the pros.

Ergashev, Melikuziev, Giyasov, Gaibnazarov, Jalolov, Abdukakhorov, Abduraimov, Kholmatov, Abdugofurov, Baturov

They don't seem to transition well to the pros unfortunately.

I honestly expect a generation like Usyk, Lomachenko, Gvozdyk, Derevyanchenko in the next 10 to 15 years. Maybe not one as great as Usyk, but a couple of the younger ones could definetly make a run for the p4p lists.
