This would make a lot of sense if it hadn’t already been announced that Mikaelijan’s WBC belt isn’t on the line. I think it’s WBC are blocking it, so the fight will only be for Jai’s Zuffa belt. So even if he wins Jai will have no real belt, he won’t be needed for Benavidez to become undisputed. More likely Cieslak who is WBC interim champion is upgraded to full champ before his fight with Benavidez so Benavidez can collect another belt.

Maybe GGG has a word to say? Has been mismanaged until the end of his career.

I think Jai wins a competitive decision but I would not be shocked if he lost. Let's hear your prediction.

First enlighten us on how "Noel outboxed Briedis but was badly robbed."

How did you score the fight round by round to have arrived at that conclusion? Let's see your card...

What's the point when you will just disagree with it? The fact is, the general consensus is that Noel was robbed, from people in the play by play thread to sports writers who reported on the fight. The consensus opinion is what counts not mine or yours.

Now answer my question and give me your prediction unless you are scared.

The entire world will disagree with it, that's why you are ashamed to put it up.

But they don't. Most people in the play by play thread on this forum agreed with me. You seem to live in an alternate reality. You should look into that.

You also criticized my prediction for the fight, while being too scared to state yours. So damn weak.

No idea what Jai is still doing at CW, would make a ton more money at HW. There is very little interest or money in the CW division.

However with his recent decisions its clear he is being very badly advised, and based on that I think he stays at CW.

Isn't Tim Tszyu fighting Lara? He is doing great for the level he is at.

None of the other belt holders would fight Opetaia pre-Zuffa. Nor would most of the main contenders.

That is still the situation now that Opetaia has signed with Zuffa. So what's changed? Except of course Opetaia is now getting paid better.

Zuffa are about to give us Opetaia-Mikaelian. That wasn't happening previously and with both Opetaia and Billam Smith now having both signed with Zuffa, we might actually get that fight as well.

A Benavidez-Opetaia cruiserweight bout would sell very well and is one of the most intriguing matchups boxing currently has to offer. Benavidez recently stated that he would like to fight Opetaia in May 2027, the only obstacle to making this fight happen is Dana White. Opetaia would face this same issue in the heavyweight division as well, provided he remains under contract with Zuffa Boxing.

In any case I think we might see the Australian move up to heavyweight in the future. That said, great cruiserweights haven't always found success at heavyweight, take Jirov and Gomez for example. It would certainly be interesting to see Opetaia compete in the heavyweight division.

I see that Gassiev is now being managed by Jim Kambosos, George's father.

If opetaia wins against the wbc champion then every boxing fan that doesn't see him as the new wbc champion is a moron. And the wbc belt should suffer from it.

If you're an Organisation that wants to claim legitimacy and you pull such a stunt then your claim should be reduced to nothing. All those organisations once had to earn their reputation and standing. This is the unearning!

I know zuffa aren't great, but if you're having your champion fight another guy and lose and you don't recognize the other guy as champion then there really is no use in giving a **** about the wbc champion anymore.

It's way worse even than having all the new heavyweight champions still standing in usyk's shadow (even though they might beat him now)
