Across the board its the weakest its ever been with guys tgat wouldnt have even been top 10 20 years ago, even less. David Nyika fighting for a world title next against another no namer. Ryan Garcia won his belt against a guy that got emailed the title and proceeded to have 2 draws after it one vs a 46 year old Pacquaio. Garcia got punked vs Romero just before. Granted Garcia is a worthy champion imo but he beat a bum to get there. Too many champions became Champions because of guys vacating. Tank Davis lost his fight vs Roach but was gifted the decision. But he still vacated. Like Opeitai and Loma. There's more. Fundora got his by beating a guy with one eye for 10 rounds. Barely. It went to a split decision. Usyk???? What happened with him? He almost got beaten by a kixkboxer and Fury got put on his ass by a UFC fighter. I've never seen a thinner list in boxing in all my time. No one knows 85 percent of the champions these days. Keyshawn Davis was the last nail in the coffin. He chickened out of a title fight and the biggest pay day of his career. Absolutely gutless. Tim Tszyu has got put on his ass and faced career and life changing moments and adversity yet he still takes big fights. He doesn't flee the division like these punks Davis and Charlo. Worst era ever. Only 3 years ago boxing was flourishing. It's diminished since 2023. We're going to have one of the worst champions in the history of the game because Jai got stripped of his belt. And that's just one of many.

    I can't get it.

In other thread you praise Floyd for his big-money fight vs 0-0 MMA fighter and then criticize Usyk and Fury for doing the same. And their opponents (Ngannou and Verhoeven) are clearly better both in their respective sport and boxing ring than Conor was.

Stop whining. The sport of boxing is doing well.

There are lots of talented champions, and lots of young talent moving up the ranks.

Sooner or later the boxing well was going to dry up..

it’s a sport where you take damage to the head over a period of time.

Some Arab guy with brain cancer who throws money only at big fights.

MMA fighters who peak in their sport and wanna get paid with huge boxing purses..

You got fighters who are scared to fight outside their countries.

judges who are corrupt, boxing organizations who are twice as corrupt. You got networks that want exclusivity to watch only their boxers.

Boxers who get used to fighting once a year..

drug testing agencies who only test wjhen the cameras are rolling..

it’s all fake. It’s all BS and the everyday fan is the only ones that lose.

    softest generation ever hardly surprising

there's also a lack of talent in sports in general due to the low birth rates that have shrunk the talent pool of sports. you can see it in soccer too.

While I generally really enjoy current boxing the OP is not completely wrong. In many of the glamour divisions there is a paucity of quality at the top. The top heavyweights and light heavies are old, the middleweights may be the weakest in my lifetime and welterweight has been abandoned by guys who could have made the division interesting. For the most part, the deepest and most interesting divisions are currently the lower weight classes but other than Naoya Inoue and Jesse Rodriguez there aren't a lot of superstars in the group.

However, all of this is cyclical. Whether it's Moses Itauma, Emiliano Vargas, Abdullah Mason or someone we've never heard of there will be new stars and new big fights. I, for one, am looking forward to seeing which boxers are going to make my seventies fun, interesting and exciting.

There's never been more divisions bad and/or dysfunctional at the same time. Opposed to a good division here and a bad division there for awhile it's been 154's great and all the other divisions are terrible. HW is doing whatever this last decade's called.

2023 seems like an arbitrary place to draw the line in the sand considering Bivol fought Beterbiev for the first time in 2024, and Fury vs Usyk was the first undisputed heavyweight title fight for 25 years the same year. Crawford vs Canelo in 2025 was the most-watched title fight of the century so far, not to mention the Bivol-Beterbiev rematch was electric, and this year we've had Inoue vs Nakatani in the biggest Japanese fight of all time.

Seems unfair to highlight Fundora as a bad champion for winning his title via split decision against a guy with one eye, when he rematched the same guy with no cut and two eyes and absolutely destroyed him before making him quit on his stool. There are weak champions out there, Fundora isn't one of them. In 2006, Kassim Ouma and Roman Karmazin were in the top 5 at 154; I'd fancy Fundora to beat either of them, really. Even just flicking through the P4P list, does Hatton beat Shakur at 140? In 2005, Jean Marc Mormeck was the Ring cruiserweight champion; would he beat Benavidez or Jai? Each division goes through ups and downs.

Claressa Shields just admitted the most she has ever made was 3 million in a boxing match. I respect the hell outta her cause at least she crossed over into MMA. Incredible athlete and she had makeup on..so yeah she lookin’ hot lol

    American boxing is dead.

So for Keyshawn Davis to not take the money is mind boggling. Yeah, I think KD and J Prince were thinking that Turqui was gonna add funds and bid on a fight. It backfired badly because TR because the purse bud went to 2 million and Devin making 10 million based on the WBO split.

Brian Norman is now considered “damaged goods” but he should put his name back into the hat and just keep busy..

see how crazy these boxes are about losses.

only American boxers are so obsessed about their undefeated record

At least at heavyweight we have a true elite on the horizon in Itauma, who under wank stain Davison will become the 3rd best heavyweight ever behind Ali & Lennox.

On the slim chance he sacks Davison & travels to ukraine to link up with Papachenko we will witness the greatest heavyweight of all time. Bar none.

Who did she box for $3,000,000? She claimed that she made $150,000 against Christina Hammer.

Sounds very much like a lie to me.

I don't know if this is relevant but I once saw an Internet video movie film called The "Rain" of Champions: Bukkakefest 19. The practical effects were actually inspired.

    And degrading.
