Maloney vs Franco. Talk about a fixed farce. Maloney jabbed the **** out of him. Yet after 30 minutes of video review where they find no evidence of a head butt they rule two head butts and the fight is ruled a no contest. What a joke. Robbed him of a world title.

Absolute **** fight. Drews partied with his Croatian compatriots in Perth before the fight.

    Flog fight.

I was a person who was excited for this fight. You have to realize that, besides the Oquendo fight, which can easily be chalked up to Oquendo being boring, Chris Byrd had a string of classic fights leading up to this one (McCline, Golota, and Tua).

The McCline fight was his most recent fight, and Byrd had a wildly entertaining comeback decision over McCline, standing his ground and outworking his opponent. DaVarryl Williamson was a puncher who kind of fought like a clown, with plenty of fun fights, like his Corey Sanders slugfest. He also had a fight go to a decision with Wlad after five rounds due to an accidental headbutt, and he actually knocked him down but ultimately lost a split decision.

This fight had the potential to be a perfect fusion of contrasting styles, but what ended up happening was literally nothing. The only punches I remember being thrown were in the 8th, 11th, and 12th. One of the worst title fights I was actually excited for.

Wlad accepting his loss against Fury and despite getting easily outboxed not willing to risk getting himself KO'd to defend his titles instead just followed Fury around. By round 9 it should have been a go for it mentality but nope.

Normally I'd agree but it doesn't take much courage when you know your opponent will fall down at the first chance he gets.
