    Hi Buddy.
My pleasure, just memories of a time gone by, wish more posters would tell us about their early years, I think it brings us together, it's not all about stats/numbers/ fights, well not to me anyway.
stay safe Philosopher, always nice to hear from you.
    Mike.

Interesting, maybe I bought out the worst in him, regarding Cooper, think the forum ( well British ) is united in Henry being our best loved boxer, by far, interestingly I watched a YT with Henry and Dickie Davis only yesterday, and Henry was talking about his weight before he would start training for his next fight, " I would start the first week around 14st, then hope to lose about 3/4pounds, to get down to around 13/3 by fight time, so that would leave me 3 more weeks " well, well, all these modern " camps " of 3 months, really......

    Hi Saint.
My wife sees me in a different light, as to the boots, I favoured the Beatle boot, not sure if esteemed member @Stevie G wore the same ?
    stay safe buddy.
    Mike.

Was lucky enough to train with Joe one time at the Police Citizens Youth Club when I was probably around 16 or so. He told me all about his career and I think he was impressed I was asking him about his fights with Cooper, Shavers etc etc rather than just Ali and Frazier. An absolute gentleman!

The first professional fight I ever attended was Bugner winning the Australian title against Col Wilson. I was also ringside for his fight with Bonecrusher Smith. RIP Joe.

British press is the mouthpiece of the 'norman yoke'

if you're the slightest familiar with soccer/football you will see how Britains 1000 year system of class oppression manifests, it's a very 'stay in your place' culture.

They tear down any working class heros systematically, joshua is one of the few to avoid it because he was the perfect symbol of post Tony Blair Britain. Non white, safe, bland, inoffensive, civic nationalist(olympic gold) etc
