The Stifler's Mum thread has taken Australian boxing to the world. More people know about it than ever before. And for a small country population-wise, we've got plenty of talent in all weight divisions. We don't have the breadth or depth of talent as places like America, Europe or Britain, but frankly, we don't need it. Our blokes (& women) are capable of scaling the heights & regularly do. We dropped six women's world championships on the weekend but no biggie. That just means it's time for others to step up. Starting on Wednesday night.

As to why people like Slow Eddie are coming out here, money is obviously key. Slow Eddie's mate in England owns DAZN. That's presumably how he got a contract with Foxtel. Foxtel alone won't increase Slow Eddie's viewership down here though. He needs to start putting on some decent fights. If every contest on the show features a short-priced favourite (like Wednesday night), the show isn't likely to sell (or attract significant viewership, if it's a freebee). He's got a guy in Teremoana who could be the most high profile fighter in the country when the Tszyu boys are done, so let's hope he's successful. Needs to find a way to ramp up the quality of Teremoana's opposition without necessarily increasing the risk of him taking an L. That in turn will take skill & sound judgement on the part of Slow Eddie & Matchroom.

As for the $8 on offer for Micky Z's opponent on Wednesday night, I hadn't sniffed the bait when you posted but given the guy has a decent kayo percentage, it could be worthy of further investigation. I might add it to my list of jobs to do today. Right below "complete census".

I can’t see anything other than a very early stoppage for Teremoana tomorrow night. Savage was stopped inside a round by Nagy Aguilera back in May.

Jasmine Parr's fighting. The next big thing in women's boxing according to the Aussie media. All she has is the name of a kickboxer.

It seems to be a habit of the big fella's, he doesn't like going past the 2nd. Teremoana - Itauma will be a cracker & feels inevitable.

Harrison's a ****ing dreamer. Wants to fight Nikita, Tim even Zerafa. Zerafas a bum even he'd still beat him if he didn't chicken out. To get to Tim he wants to beat Nikita. No chance. Nikita would cause even more permanent brain damage. He'd knock him out in brutal fashion his career would end. Harrison mustn't have woken up from that brutal bashing Tim inflicted on him in March 2023. He still thinks it's the year 2023.

Ortiz would have fought Venezuelan taxi drivers.

Hemi Ahio is a fun fighter to watch, but he could have stepped up a long time ago. Huni by TKO

Odds blown out to $8.50 for Ortiz...
Im very very tempted but going to pass...
I had a look at few highlights I could find and while he looks willing enough, he looks very slow and slappy type punches n bit leaky on defence...
I'll be kicking myself if he gets up...
As much as Zerafa is what he is, he prob still beats this type of opponent. In my opinion if he had enough to get over Creti he most prob gets over Ortiz...
I cant do cartwheels but I will be if Ortiz gets up....
Will be checking results of the night but prob wont end up watching as much as I love supporting domestic show, nothing much on the card interests me.. Wishing Teremoana and Parr the best for the night as I like them but most prob wont be tuning in...

I was being sarcastic there. Hoping for a good fight atleast. Not accepting any Zerafa narratives though.

Believe it or not the fight I’m most looking forward to is Omar El-Abdallah vs Jordan Towns. Decent little domestic scrap over 5 rounds. Towns always comes to fight and there’s a few wraps on Omar, so I’m interested in that one.

The rest of the card is very meh for mine.

I'm a bit shocked that Zerafa is being put on a big aussie card after he quit and robbed everyone last fight. He should be totally cut loose by the boxing community not being put in any decent card. A total scammer. Hearn must be desperate to pay that clown a cent.

The reality is Matchroom don't have many fighters in Australia. It's threadbare. Zerafa is obviously strongly disliked but I guess people will tune in, in the hope he gets beat.
