Do I really need to list all of his actions?

It’s highly unlikely that he’d have fought Duran, and especially past his ‘PBF’ days.

That zero meant more than money to him.

 

Pick the most significant action you feel is relevant to him being highly unlikely to have fought Duran, if you are amenable, so that I may understand.

He ran his mouth off and called out Winky. Said that he was going to go up 2 divisions and give him a lesson. Winky and his team then met all of Floyd’s demands, before Floyd tried to change the terms at the last minute, thus scuppering the fight.

Not rematching Oscar for millions of dollars, and letting the time period of their rematch option expire.

Taking a vacation in the middle of a thriving WW division.

Enforcing a catch-weight on Canelo, even though they were both champions in the SAME division.

Trying to stop Maidana from wearing his preferred choice of gloves.

Putting every road block up to delay fighting Manny in his prime.

Dragging Marquez up 2 divisions, and then deliberately breaking their catch-weight agreement.

Ending his career with safe fights against Berto and an MMA fighter.


Floyd would never have put his zero on the line against any of the 4 kings.

That should be obvious to you and anyone who closely followed his career.

 

Duran would kill Floyd at 135 lbs. It'd be something like the Ray Lampkin fight where in rounds 13,14, Floyd can't keep him off and he's detonated. Plus tell Duran that Floyd said bad things about him beforehand. Mayweather is a great fighter but there are levels even in great fighters, and he ain't Roberto Duran

 

Except Lampkin doesn’t belong in the same sentence as Floyd.

Yes, Floyd deliberately put PAC on the back burner for 5 years. It was described exactly for what is as the time period ran through.

Given their respective styles, PAC was always going to fall prey to far greater wear/tear during the intervening years.

PAC being flattened by Marquez early into the interim period had to have lent to Floyd’s ultimate resolve but even then, the fight still wasn’t to be for another 3 years.

Floyd would have ducked him all the way. If they were forced to fight, expect a repeat of the first Leonard fight. Duran outboxing him all the way. Floyd got outhustled by Castillo and Maidana, not a chance he beats prime Duran.
