Tyson "Greedy Belly" Fury wants it in the USA, while Anthony Joshua wants the fight in the UK. This shows how much Greedy Belly cares about the British fans.

And Belly is still terrified of losing to Joshua.

    Exactly this.

Seems to me like Turki/Dana tried to pull a fast one. Agreed to have the fight. Agreed it would be in the UK. Signed the deal. Then decided they'd use their clout and position in the industry to wring every last penny out of it by moving it to NYC. Probably are trying to lowball Hearn/AJ, too, considering it seems they might not have even paid their bills on past fights. So this is all just Eddie/AJ not being pushovers and trying to get a fair deal.

And the hilarious part is that Fury can't play his normal games here. He can try, of course, but unlike in the past, he has no leverage/outs now. He has nowhere else to go. He absolutely can't fight anyone else in the Top 10. He'd get smoked. So all that's left for him is AJ. His past shenanigans will do him no good here. He NEEDS AJ to make money now.

We all knew this Turki/Saudi money and influence was going to turn sour sooner or later. Well, that time is now upon us.

Really? AJ Fury in 2021 was supposed to be in Saudi! there was no crying about the location then, both AJ and Fury are prize fighters so they should try and get the most money they can for a fight, but the virtue signalling from Hearn is ridiculous!

4 out of 5 of AJ's last 5 fights have been abroad and the fact that Hearn or AJ were planning of fighting Fury in Saudi in 2021..

Facts are this, it's only Hearn and AJ that are holding up the fight now!

    Completely agree.

Shane Fury even admitted he wanted to fight Ruiz instead of Wach but there was no money in it. At this point its either AJ or getting flattened by Dubois/Kabayel/Moses etc and he knows it.

Yeah sure, because the contract was to fight in Saudi in 2021. Now in 2026, if they wanted to fight in Saudi, or USA, or on a yacht in the middle of the ocean, then agree that up front. It's not AJ/Matchroom that are going back on the agreement is it. They signed to fight in the UK and willing to fight in the UK. If it doesnt go ahead it because Tyson/Netflix/Sela are backtracking on their own terms.

It's that simple. One fighter is happy to move forward on what is in the contract. The other fighter isn't.

Don't see how anyone but Netflix get a say in where this bout is hosted...

Turki doesn't mind as long as he gets his flag raised at the event

Eddie Hearn has a wierd fetish for it bieng in the UK, ego bragging rights and probably because AJ will have a panic attack in America without question...and they have no leverage with Netflix where as Fury has potential outside of boxing if he wants to maybe make money from them...but I don't think his reality TV success in the UK will transfer to America AT ALL.

That isn't the fact, the fact is the tarmacer has signed a contract and isn't honoring it.

Then why didn't they say that upfront and not sign a contract to have a fight in country where they never intended to host it?

Who knows who cares, I'd assume the venue is the last hurdle past all the other complexities and Eddie just wants to get his own way on this one thing...and he may get it. No doubt Fury got all the other typical A-side benefits.

Think about what you actually just wrote in your penultimate paragraph. You said it yourself, literally everyone is happy for the fight to take place in NY: Netflix (whose opinion is ultimately the most relevant), SELA, Turki, Warren, Fury, it’s literally just Eddie Hearn holding up the fight.

I’ve been getting tired of Fury these past few years too but it’s just so obvious to see that Matchroom is the reason this fight still isn’t official yet.

5 years ago Hearn and Joshua are telling us how great it is for boxing that Fury-AJ will be in Saudi, now they’re saying the fight must be in the UK or there’s no fight?

Realistically either the fight happens in New York, or the fight doesn’t happen at all. Anyone cheering for the latter option isn’t a boxing fan, they’re just a Matchroom/Eddie Hearn/AJ fanboy, and that’s okay, but at least be honest about it.

These guys have taken a lot of damage and ain’t getting any younger. I’d prefer them retire at this point anyway then take a meaningless fight like this.

It is an exciting fight due to the history, even if it is meaningless in present day wrt to legacy or who was better in their primes… but there’s just no reason for them to get their heads beat on any more - and both of these men have had lots of brain cells knocked out of them in recent fights. (Relatively speaking.)

Getting dinged up by a volume puncher like Usyk at heavyweight twice, and going to war / being concussed by the likes of Wilder several times or DuBois.

AJ and Fury could both take less money and make it viable to have the fight in the UK. Im no AJ fan boy and couldnt care less how much either of them make, it doesnt change my life. If they renegotiate and AJ makes more but its at MSG (which is where it heading apparently i dont see that as a celebration). What i do want is to see the fight in person without having to fly half way around the world.

But the crux of point is that AJ agreed the terms and signed a contract and IS willing and wanting to have the fight on those terms. If that wasnt viable then they shouldnt have put in the contract in the first place. I dont even blame fury to be honest, this is on Netflix.

Fury is ranked #3 by the WBA. He could always fight Gassiev. I think he's ranked in the top 5 in the WBC too, so Kabayel could be an option. AJ has the same alternatives available to him plus some people might still want to see the Wilder fight. I think Hearn is up to something.

For what it's worth though, I'm in the U.S. and I think this fight should happen in the U.K.

Rick Glasner is an absolutely disgusting person in every aspect

He genuinely hates Hearn because Hearn has always ripped him a new one and would literally take one up the bum for Turki

And as for Fury it's quite astonishing to see how much he has gone from being a crowd favourite (which was a good 90 percent manufactured and false) to once again seeing his true colours when his career is nearly over and he doesn't have to care

It's sad really as I have at points enjoyed Fury's career but those days are long gone
