I only found highlights but she was eating some big right hands and looked like she took some damage Alot of comments said Serrano lost 8 or 9 rounds before coming on strong
I thought it was one of those fights where you can easily justify a draw or a win in either direction. Manzur landed the more telling punches more consistently, even seemed to make Serrano stagger at least once for sure. Three of the first four rounds were very clear in favor of Manzur, you can argue the first four rounds all went to Manzur. After that the fight was very close. Serrano also had some clear rounds, especially when she would box from the outside, but she wasn't inflicting the same damage on Manzur compared to what she was receiving, and never as clear as Manzur's rounds. I think that's what could have made the fight look somewhat controversial. I personally don't think it was. Manzur's style wasn't as eye pleasing, but it was very effective, especially her awkward downward jab to the head and looping right hand that kept catching Serrano as she was trying to avoid the jab. Serrano's advantages were her elite conditioning, speed, and shorter punches while Manzur was more relentless, unorthodox punches that Serrano did not know how to defend, especially the left hand. The fight definitely rose some questions about the 37 year old Serrano. Did father time catch up to her? Is she lacking the motivation she once had? Or was she simply up against a very awkward style? We'll see in her next fight
114-114 even Serrano: 1, 3 9-12 Manzur 2- 4-8 Round 5 got cut off on the video Round 1 could go fhe other way Round 11 was close too Watched 8 and 9 twice Serrano took control in the second minute of Round 9 as Manzur got tired and her looping shots became easier to evade. Amanda's legs and punch accuracy seemed to have declined but she showed heart and great conditioning Pretty close fight
It was very close. I thought Serrano pulled it off at the end, but like I said, a draw or a win for Manzur would be fine too.
