Are there any areas where you would acknowledge that Usyk has an advantage over Ali as a HW?

    Ali is much faster. Come on. This isn’t even close speed wise.
    Ali is a much better combination puncher.

    Ali mainly threw 1-2's, Usyk throws more combos.

    Ali regularly threw 5-7 punch combinations and he unloaded with both hands.
    Usyk throws combos where he mixes in 1 or 2 hard shots with 3 or 4 slappy shots


    It’s not even close combination punching wise

    Ali is a better talker.

    Usyk is a better boxer.

    Unfair comparison as we don't know what Ali could've been in terms of boxing if he was a product of the modern era.

    Dude I can’t take this argument seriously. Ali threw faster harder combos and he did it far more often

    Usyk has no doubt kept more of his ring earnings, huge advantage!

    Ali fought in a way, way deeper era.

    Peak Ali v Usyk, I pick Ali everytime.

    That's ''prime'' Ali who had declined in many areas at just 28 y/o and at 29-0 with 108 amateur fights but Usyk is still his prime at 39-0 and at 25-0 with 356 amateur fights including the semi-pro WSB ones despite the fact he's a speed, legs, reflexes and reaction times slick boxer and it's plain to see he's declined in those areas and it started long ago too ie. most of the exact same areas Ali at 28 y/o declined in according to these clowns

    I'm not even going to voice my opinion on how I think Usyk would fare vs that 'prime' Ali for fear of being branded a heretic by the Holy Church of Boxing Nostalgists. But I really wish we could see prime Ali vs prime Usyk because they'd get the shock of their lives and at bare minimum it would be a lot more competitive than their dismissive, smug, arrogant elitist asses are so sure it would be

    Usyk obviously would of fought lots of southpaws in the amateurs but off the top of my head he beat

    2 x World Amateur silver medalist & Olympuc bronze medalist Kamshybek Kunkabayev

    World Amateur silver & bronze medalist & Olympic bronze medalist Teymur Mammadov

    World Amateur silver medalist and Olympic bronze Osmay Acosta

    World Amateur silver medalist Julio Castillo

    They obviously won or medalled in numerous other prestigious tournaments too

    And Usyk last defeat in the amateurs was against southpaw Mekhontsev who is an Olympic gold medalist, World Amateur gold and bronze medalist both at different weights, and a 2 x European gold medalist and Usyk clearly won that fight IMO and the opinions of many others

    And he schooled southpaw Glowacki in his backyard in just his 10th pro fight and stopped very awkward and tricky slick and skilled southpaw Mchunu 3 months later in his first defence

    Absolutely no one is arguing that Usyk was in his prime vs Rico. He looked old, slow and overweight. Clearly past his prime. The criticism was for holding up the division. No one believes that a 233 lb Usyk, carrying an extra 12 lbs of fat with declining reflexes is prime.

    Ali was as smart as he was talented. Usyk is a great fighter, but I dont think he matches up well with someone as fluid as Ali. Usyk much better versus abnormally large fighters especially those with poor mindsets. Fury fought Usyk all wrong and couldnt make adjustments. AJ is an even worse strategist.

    Ali, on the other hand, was a master at setting traps, getting in opponents heads, and Ali was just as good at in-fight adjustments as he was pre-fight. And he beat guys at their absolute peaks, not older and after a few losses.

    Prime Usyk did struggle w Chisora though. Styles make fights and Chisoras style and frame gave Usyk problems. I think Rico's awkward frame and awful smothering style troubled Usyk.

    Rico reminded me of dog**** Shawn Porter. Shawn is a nice guy but his fights were awful to watch...leading with his head, clinching, smothering, hugging...Awful.
