And don't reflect how good they were?
    Such as: Ezzard Charles
    Evander Holyfield
    Sugar Ray Robinson

Casuals see the losses and don't realise how great they were, how most of those guys they lost to,in their prime they'd have **** on em.

Iran Barkley, he wasn't a highly touted amateur and had a few losses on his way to the world level, then always fought the best of the best when 160-175 was highly competitive, then had a lot of losses after his prime. In turn having 19 losses, but like I said he was always against tough competition as he matured, at his best, then when his best had ran out.

How does Robinson's record say anything other than amazing? 201 bouts and only 19 losses is incredible

This thread really makes me think about how boxing today has been ruined with the "modern" boxing casuals who think that fighters needs to have a perfect 0 loss record in order to qualify as a truly great fighter. This mindset that fighters can only be the absolute best with having a "perfect undefeated record" is what's hurting the sport and stopping fighters from taking risks. ATGs have had losses over the years, even double digit losses on their record. People need to be constantly reminded that losing in fights happen in boxing all the time even to the absolute great ones.

It's definitely changed to how it used to be.
The guys fighting back in the day, didn't matter as much having Ls on their record.
Now as soon as they pick up a loss it seems to knock their confidence.

And did you notice they need to take about a year off to get their confidence back before inching their way back against some clubfighter. Canzoneri or Zivic would've shrugged their shoulders and been back in the ring within 2 weeks.
