Who will you be rooting for: Itauma or Hrgovic?

Who do you hope wins on Saturday, Moses Itauma or Filip Hrgovic?

I think Itauma will win, but I'll be hoping Hrgovic beats the odds and prevails.

Hrgovic had excellent potential at one time, but never had good promotion because he's from a small country. The British promoters and public never "adopted" him like they have Itauma.

Several years ago, Hearn kept him inactive for long periods despite his impressive performances. In his fight with Zhang, he clearly won but had the commentators and referee against him. Then with Warren as his promoter, he was done dirty in the fight with Dubois, losing the fight by illegal head butt TKO. Now, he's being used as fodder for the hard-punching up-and-coming Moses Itauma.

The poor guy deserves a break.

 

For my compatriot.

 

Itauma. It brings a breath of fresh air to the division.

 

Itauma. He has a bright future the HW divisions sorely needs.

I'm in trouble because I like both a lot. I want to see both with great performances and both of them to succeed.

So I hope for a fight of the year candidate with hrgovic's best performance ever and juuust getting the decision against a super good and game itauma that just loses because of inexperience and lower output in the later rounds.

Even though it's hardly realistic.

He is the "underdog" here - so needs some backing.

 

Hrgovic has “Queensberry matchmaking department” written all over him. He’s practically been gift-wrapped for Moses Itauma: low guard, porous defense, slow feet, and a habit of standing in the pocket like he’s waiting for a bus.

Dubois already showed what happens when you put proper heat on him — Hrgovic’s defense started leaking like a busted pipe. Against a young, fast, heavy-handed southpaw like Itauma, that hands-low nonsense is basically volunteering for a highlight-reel KO.

Three rounds max. Moses will touch him up, crack the chin, and send him to the shadow realm. Hrgovic knows the script too: turn up, get leathered, collect the cheque, say “I’ll come back stronger” on Instagram, job done.

I want both men’s stock to increase after this fight. Maybe a 12 round competitive, possibly controversial decision win for Itauma would provide that.

 

I like both fighters. Just want to see a good fight and hopefully a long one.

And please no British stoppage. That's the last thing boxing needs.

My gut says this one goes the distance
Hrgovic will need a (T)KO to win, no way they are gonna give him the decision

I wish both fighters would fight someone else

 

I hope Hrgovic has worked on his stamina; he looks pretty good and in shape, and I think he’s determined to take Itauma down...
